
OCZ has started shipping their newest line of SSDs in the US, the Vertex 3. Coming in three different storage capacities: 120GB, 240GB and 480GB, these high-performance 2.5-inch SSDs are equipped with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SandForce SF-2200 controller, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, TRIM support, a MTBF of 2 million hours and promise to deliver read/write speeds of up to 550/500 MB/s (120GB model), 550/520 MB/s (240GB model), 530/450 MB/s (480GB model), respectively. Coming in both 120GB and 240GB sizes, these pocket-sized SSDs are equipped with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a MTBF of 1.5 million hours, TRIM support and promise to deliver maximum read and write speeds of up to 275MB/s and 265MB/s, respectively. OCZ has recently cut away some of the other categories of products they had been working on as of late so that they could focus more on their core products that made them famous. They have just unveiled this new line of PSUs called the OCZ StealthXStream 2 series. This line is designed for high efficiency, quiet operation and a sleek design. Also they are meant to be easy on the wallet but still reliable. They will use a 120mm ball bearing fan to keep the internal components cool and reduce noise. OCZ has announced two new storage capacities to its Vertex 2 and Agility 2 SSD line-up by adding the 400GB and 480GB models. These high capacity 2.5 drives are equipped with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, TRIM support for Windows 7 systems and promise to deliver read and write speeds of up to 250MB/s and 240MB/s, respectively. The only difference between these two SSDs is that the Vertex 2 series is able to provide up to 22,500 IOPS of random write 4K performance. The OCZ Enyo is an external USB 3.0 SSD-based drive that should hit retail sometime in mid May 2010. Available in 64, 128 and 256GB of storage capacities, the device uses MLC NAND flash memory, 64MB of on board cache and USB 3.0 Micro B connector interface. The Enyo boasts a maximum transfer speed of up to 260MB/s for read and up to 200MB/s for write with sustained speeds of up to 150MB/s for 128GB and 256GB versions. The 64GB model will have a bit lower speeds of up to 225MB/s for read and up to 135MB/s for write with sustained write of up to 40MB/s. [Fudzilla]

OCZ has introduced a new member to its 3.5-inch SSD line-up by announcing the Colossus LT. Coming in 120GB, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities, these SSDs boast MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a 128MB of cache, a MTBF of 1 million hours and deliver maximum read/write speeds of up to 260/260 MB/s, respectively. Available in 50GB, 100GB, 200GB and 400GB sizes, these 2.5-inch drives are equipped with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, TRIM support for Windows 7 systems and capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 285MB/s and 275MB/s, respectively. The only difference between these two SSDs is that the Agility 2 only provides up to 10,000 IOPS of random write 4k performance, while the Vertex 2 offers up to 50,000 IOPS.
