Samsung Haptic AMOLED Mobile Phone in South Korea

Samsung has introduced a new 3G full touchscreen mobile phone in South Korea, which is dubbed as the Haptic AMOLED. The handset provides high resolution WVGA 800×480 pixel resolution on its 3.5 inch AMOLED display. The AMOLED display also has 180-degree viewing angle, and can reduce power consumption by up to 66%. The phone also supports high-quality video formats such as H.264, MPEG4, and AC-3. Other features include “One-finger Zoom” function, T-DMB, a 5MP camera, Bluetooth, and navigation support. Panasonic will launch their OLED TV to the mass market in the next 18 to 24 months. They has joined with Toshiba in order to develop their first 37-inch OLED TV that measures at only 1-inch thick. Panasonic has been working on extending OLED display lifespans, with a target figure of 50,000 hours (20,000 hours more than the current average).
