
The first generation of pico projectors come with poor performance and battery life. The new PK102 from Optoma provides higher contrast ratio with a lower price tag. The new projector boasts a 2000:1 contrast ratio, a 4GB of on-board memory and a on-screen menu. That’s certainly big enough for a couple episodes of this or that, or a few home movies. Optoma today launched two new DLP projectors which are known as the Pro250X and Pro150S. Both projectors provide a brightness level of 2,800 ANSI lumens and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. The Pro250X comes with XGA (1,024 x 768) resolution, meanwhile the Pro150S provides only SVGA (800 x 600) resolution. Other features include Composite, S-video, and VGA ports. Optoma comes back with its home theater projectors in the form of the HD8200. The projector will be powered by Texas Instruments’ DLP DarkChip3 DMD Technology and adopts Optoma’s PureShift and PureMotion technologies. Other features include 20,000:1 DynamicBlack contrast ratio, Pixelworks PW9800 co-processor with DNX MotionEngine technology, 1,300 ANSI lumens, Simple installation process, ISFccc (Imaging Science Foundation Custom Calibration Configuration) certifiable, two HDMI v1.3 with Deep Color inputs connectivity, DVI w/HDCP, S-Video, component video RS-232, and +12V trigger and IR receiver connectivity. Optoma today released the EP1080 premium full HD projector in Korea. The projector is equipped with TI’s 0.95-inch 1080p DMD chipset and supports 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 3,600 ANSI Lumen of brightness and 2,200:1 contrast ratio. The Optoma EP1080 also adopts Philips’ VIDI technology and comes equipped with HDMI port, DVI-D, S-Video, and IR receiver. You can purchase the EP1080 in January 2009 for 9,900,000 Korean Won. Check out Optoma’s new Pico projector that is powered by the DLP Pico chipset. This small projector will be available in limited distribution in Europe and Asia in late 2008, where a worldwide launch will begin next year. Unfortunately, there is no info on pricing at this time. It comes with features like: SVGA(800×600) resolution, 2,200 ANSI lumen brightness, 2000:1 contrast ratio, and a built-in speaker. Now you can view photos with sounds and weird noise effects to spice up your presentations or projects.
