
Other World Computing (OWC) will release the new Mercury On-The-Go Pro portable hard drive that comes in a 1TB of storage capacity. It is enough to store up to 1,000,000 JPEG photos, 500 DVD movies, 76-hours of digital video, or 350,000 MP3 songs. Weighing at just 1.1kg, the new model also comes with an 8MB caches and a data transfer speeds up to 100MB/s. That’s right! Other World Computing (OWC) has rolled out the world’s first external Blu-ray drive that features Quad Interface. The drive connects to your PC or laptop via four different interfaces such as FireWire 400, FireWire 800, USB 2.0 and eSATA. This external Blu-ray drive comes in two variants including the Mercury Pro SW-5583 that reads/writes Blu-ray, DVD, DVD-RAM and CD-R/RW and the Mercury Pro SW-5583T that comes bundled with a full retail version of Roxio Toast 9 Titanium (Mac OS X).
