Panasonic DMR-BW970 Digital Video Recorder

Panasonic will release six new digital video recorders in September 2009. One of these DVRs is the high-end DMR-BW970, which is a successor of the Panasonic DMR-BW930. It is able to record up to 320-hours of video in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 @ 12.9Mbps. The DVR also supports Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS-HD, and can record on BD-RE, BD-R, DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD R DL, and DVD-RW. Panasonic Viera SV-MC55 Portable 1Seg TV in Japan

Panasonic has released the Viera SV-MC55 portable 1Seg TV exclusively for the Japanese market. The gadget comes jam packed with an improved 4.3-inch LCD display for better visibility and a 4GB internal memory that is expandable via an SD/microSD card slot. You can also record and save digital TV programs using the SD/microSD cards. The Viera SV-MC55 is currently available in black, purple, and white. No info on pricing at this time. More

Robotic Drug Dealer From Panasonic

Japanese giant Panasonic has designed a robot that will help pharmacists to give out drugs to patients. The robot will be connected to electronic medical records and will scuttle around Japanese hospitals picking up prescriptions from patients. In a hospital with 400 beds, the robotic drug dealer will finish the job in only two hours, compared to the four hours it will take for a skilled pharmacist to complete the task. These robots will be available in Europe and the States very soon. The company has plans to develop other medical robots that will help old people move around. [Newlaunches]

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS7 Released in Japan

Here is good news for those who are living in Japan. Panasonic has announced that they will release the Lumix DMC-FS7 10MP compact camera. Available in Silver, Blue, Pink and Green, the digicam boasts a 4x optical zoom, a 2.7-inch wide view LCD. It is also able to record VGA video at 30fps. Panasonic just announced its new 10.4-inch laptop for the Japanese market. Dubbed as the Lets Note Light R8 CF-R8WWLAJP, the notebook has a 1.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 CPU, a 2GB of RAM that is upgradable up to 4GB, and a 64GB of SSD with 220MB/s reading speed. Panasonic HDC-TM350 and TM30 Camcorders

Two new camcorders have been introduced by Panasonic today in the form of the Panasonic HDC-TM350 and TM30. The former comes with a 64GB HDD, meanwhile the latter has a 32GB HDD. Weighing at 227grams, the Panasonic TM30 is the lightest camcorder of its kind in the industry. It has a 1/6-inch CMOS sensor (2.1MP), a 16x zoom and 2ch sound support. The Panasonic TM350 features a 1/4.1-inch CMOS sensor (10.6MP), a 12x zoom and 5.1ch sound support. Both camcorders also feature a 2.7-inch LCD screen and USB/SDHC card/HDMI interfaces. Panasonic will release in the UK the HDC-SD10 and the HDC-TM10 that are claimed to be the world’s lightest Full HD camcorders. Weighing at 227grams, both camcorders are capable of recording 1920 x 1080 HD images and has a 16x optical zoom, Advanced Optical Image Stabiliser, Face Detection Technology, and an intelligent scene selector, which claims to determine the shooting conditions and automatically selects the scene setting that will provide optimal results. Panasonic will launch their OLED TV to the mass market in the next 18 to 24 months. They has joined with Toshiba in order to develop their first 37-inch OLED TV that measures at only 1-inch thick. Panasonic has been working on extending OLED display lifespans, with a target figure of 50,000 hours (20,000 hours more than the current average). Panasonic Launches First In-Dash Blu-ray Player For Your Car

Panasonic has rolled out two in-dash mountable devices for your car in the form of the CN-HX3000D and the CY-BB1000D. The first device is a Windows-powered GPS that sports a 7-inch LCD screen with 1280 x 720 resolution. It comes equipped with a CD / DVD player, a One-Seg tuner, a 40GB hard drive, a 5 channel amplifier, Bluetooth and an iPhone / iPod compatibility. Meanwhile, the CY-BB1000D is an optional Blu-Ray player which can support everything except Blu-Live. Both devices are expected to hit stores by fall 2009 for unannounced price yet. [NewLaunches]
