
The French company S.T. DuPont has decided to enter the mobile phone market by making a new handset in collaboration with South Korea’s third largest handset maker, Pantech. The Pantech Sky DuPont IM-U510LE is inspired by DuPont’s famous lighters. The luxurious phone features a 3-inch touchscreen display, a 2G-only connectivity, GPS, a 3MP camera, and gold-plated edges. Pantech and AU have collaborated to launch the new Pantech-AU NS02 3G handset in Japan. The phone is actually a standard CDMA 1X WIN phone with a 2.7-inch QVGA display and a 2MP shooter. Other features include microSD memory card slot (up to 2GB) and a battery that provides up to 220 minutes of talk time. Pantech comes back with the new CDMA handset. Known as the Cupid IM-S390, the phone sports CDMA/HSDPA (7.2 Mbps) network and has a 2.3 inch display at 240 x 320 resolution with 262k colors, a 1.3MP camera, 80MB internal memory, microSD memory card slot, Electronic dictionary and MP3 playback. You can call this handset the “Presto”, which means a music term that implies “quite fast” and hereby means “get it by one touch.” The Pantech Presto IM-U310 boasts terrestrial DMB, SKY Studio, Bluetooth, external memory of 4GB (accompanied), mobile banking, traffic card, video telephony, music player, electronic dictionary and metro map. AT&T has recently rolled out the brand new Pantech C630 cell phone for its customers. This candybar handset supports 3G connectivity and assisted GPS to help you find your way around. The Pantech C630 also comes with a microSD memory card slot for extra storage capacity. You can grab the Pantech C630 for $40 after signing up for a two-year contract. South Korea-based Pantech has introduced four new concept phones that are called the “Coralliform Water”, the “Easter Moai”, the “Recy_Q” and the “Softly Lofty”. The “Coralliform Water” was inspired by the sea and its life. It is a slider that looks like a budding flower, when closed. The phone has a touchscreen display and a camera. The “Easter Moai” has a “wave†touchscreen LCD, a touch key, a dome key and lots of other keys on its sides. The “Recy_Q” comes with a sliding QWERTY keyboard and touch keys. This handset uses recyclable material for the case and keypad. The last concept is the Softy Lofty, which is designed “to offer as much visual and emotional comfort as possibleâ€. The spanking new HSDPA handset from Pantech Sky has been released in Korea. The SKY IM-S730 is available exclusively in the South Korean market. The phone features a 2.6-inch wide QVGA display with a 1.3MP digital camera, HSDPA, GPS, FM tuner, and microSD slot. Sadly, there is no word on pricing at this time. Pantech has recently unveiled its new handset, the Love Canvas or also known as Pantech IM-R300. This touch screen cell phone will be available exclusively from SK Telecom. The handset comes equipped with 2.6 inch WQVGA LCD touchscreen (400 x 240 resolution), an integrated GPS navigation, a DMB TV tuner, a 2MP camera, music player, eWallet functionality, 260MB internal memory and microSD memory card slot. Look what’s dropped in to local AU KDDI shops in Japan! The Pantech W61PT phone which is obviously more of a girlie phone. It comes in your choice of pink, white or black glossy finishes and has all the standard features such as: a 2.4 inches screen, 2 megapixels Digital Camera, MicroSD port. Price and additional features are unknown at this time. Keep in mind gentleman, that the hot girl isn’t included with the phone.
