Verizon Wireless and Pantech have joined together to launch the Pantech UML290 4G USB modem via Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com. The Pantech UML290 connects to Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network, the fastest and largest 4G LTE network in America, providing speeds 10 times faster than the wireless leader’s current 3G network. Korean phone manufacturer Pantech has rolled out their latest cell phone, the Sky IM-U560K. Designed for girls, the handset features a touchscreen display and an accelerometer allowing you to enjoy different games and application, as well as being able to completely manipulate its GUI via hand gestures and movements. The Sky IM-U560K features a 2.6-inch screen, a DMB TV tuner, an MP3 player, and a Korean to English TTS (Text to Speech) Translator. Too bad, there is no info on pricing of this cell phone. The French company S.T. DuPont has decided to enter the mobile phone market by making a new handset in collaboration with South Korea’s third largest handset maker, Pantech. The Pantech Sky DuPont IM-U510LE is inspired by DuPont’s famous lighters. The luxurious phone features a 3-inch touchscreen display, a 2G-only connectivity, GPS, a 3MP camera, and gold-plated edges. Pantech and AU have collaborated to launch the new Pantech-AU NS02 3G handset in Japan. The phone is actually a standard CDMA 1X WIN phone with a 2.7-inch QVGA display and a 2MP shooter. Other features include microSD memory card slot (up to 2GB) and a battery that provides up to 220 minutes of talk time. South Korea-based Pantech has introduced four new concept phones that are called the “Coralliform Water”, the “Easter Moai”, the “Recy_Q” and the “Softly Lofty”. The “Coralliform Water” was inspired by the sea and its life. It is a slider that looks like a budding flower, when closed. The phone has a touchscreen display and a camera. The “Easter Moai” has a “wave” touchscreen LCD, a touch key, a dome key and lots of other keys on its sides. The “Recy_Q” comes with a sliding QWERTY keyboard and touch keys. This handset uses recyclable material for the case and keypad. The last concept is the Softy Lofty, which is designed “to offer as much visual and emotional comfort as possible”.
