Pentax X90 With 162.5X Zoom

Pentax X90 Mega Zoom

Pentax today unveiled the successor to the long-serving X70. Known as the Pentax X90, this camera features a 26X lens (26-676mm equivalent) and uses an “intelligent zoom” in software to reach 162.5X (4,225mm). The 12-megapixel camera also adopts an image stabilization through sensor shifting and a fast face detection system that can recognizes as many as 32 individual subjects in 0.03 seconds. What makes this camera more special is that it captures movies at up to 720p and has a special anti-shake movie mode to reduce blurring for video. Pentax Optio I-10

Pentax has officially released their latest retro point-and-shoot camera, the Optio I-10. Priced at 26,000 Yen ($289), the camera comes equipped with a gyro-based image stabilizer, a 12.1MP CCD sensor, up to 6400 ISO sensitivity, a 5x optical zoom, a 2.7-inch LCD screen, Face Detection and a 26.7MB built-in Memory (expandable with SD/SDHC memory Cards). This camera also supports HD video recording in 1280×720 pixel resolution. Pentax Optio P80 and E80 Wallet-friendly Compact Digicams

Pentax has announced the availability of the Optio P80 and E80 wallet-friendly compact digital cameras. The Optio P80 features a 12.1 Megapixel sensor, a 4X PENTAX wide angle zoom lens with 27.5 wide angle, a 2.7-inch LCD display, PENTAX Shake Reduction (SR) technology, Face Detection, Smile Capture and ISO up to 6400. Available in three fashionable colors including Black, Pearl, and Mint, this camera is able to record 720p HD video at 30fps. On the other hand, the Pentax Optio E80 is an entry-level camera with 10 Megapixel CCD, a 3X optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD display, ISO up to 6400, and Face Detection. Pentax Optio W80 Rugged Compact Digicam

Pentax will release its rugged point-and-shoot camera next month. Known as the Optio W80, the camera is waterproof up to 16 feet underwater, works in 14 degree weather, and will survive drops from 3.3 feet. Available in Cardinal Red, Azure Blue and Gunmetal Gray, the Pentax Optio W80 will be released in July for $300 each. Pentax K-7 DSLR Released in Japan

Pentax will release K-7 in the Japanese market in the end of June this year. It is a lens-interchangeable digital SLR camera that has a wide array of advanced functions and user-friendly features. The K-7 features a 14.6 effective megapixels, a high-speed movie data transmission, and a newly developed PRIME (PENTAX Real Image Engine) II that provides greater data-processing speed and produces better-quality images with richer gradation and more accurate color rendition. Pentax has released the Pentax K20D Titanium Limited Edition that features a 2.8-inch LCD screen, image stabilization and dust proofing. The original version of the Pentax K20D is available for $700, meanwhile the limited edition Titanium version costs a whopping $1199. Pentax will introduce their latest digital cameras at CES 2009. One of them is the Optio P70 12MP digicam with a 4x optical zoom (equivalent 28-112 mm), ISO sensitivity up to 6400, 2.7 inch TFT LCD screen and has a 720P video mode at 15 fps. The cool factor for the Optio P70 is the Face Recognition that can track up to 32 faces in 0.03 second. The Pentax Optio P70 will be available in February 2009 for $199.95.
