
Pentax has announced its new digital camera, the Pentax Optio E60. Powered by two AA batteries – either alkaline or lithium disposables, or NiMH rechargeables, this new digital camera will feature a 10 megapixel CCD image sensor with a 3x optical zoom lens, 2.4-inch LCD display, compact body(1.0″ / 25mm thick) design, Face Recognition and High Sensitivity Digital Shake Reduction. Pentax is ready to release its Optio W60 compact digital camera in Japan. This waterproof digicam can survive underwater within 4 meters for 2 hours. Available in ocean blue and silver, the 10MP camera comes with 5x optical zoom lens, a 2.5-inch LCD, supports up to ISO 1600 and HD video recording. Pentax has recently unveiled its new waterproof digital camera, the Optio W60, that comes with a 10MP sensor, 5x optical zoom, and a 28mm wide-angle lens. The W60 has a sensitivity for up to ISO 6400, and can record HD video (720p resolution). Available in Money and Blue Ocean, this underwater camera can withstand under water pressure up to 4 meters. Here comes another camera by Pentax known as the Optio V20. It comes with 5x optical zoom, a 3-inch LCD monitor, face recognition, blink detection, USB 2.0 connectivity, video out and VGA movie mode. In addition to a SD / SDHC expansion slot 52MB of built-in memory and the rechargeable Li-ion good enough for 200 clicks on a full charge, and is 8 mega-pixels. The new Pentax K100D Super is actually an upgrade version of the popular K100D digital camera. It comes equipped with a dust removal system, supports SDM (Supersonic Drive Motor) lens and new fastest ISO speed of 3200. The new digicam is priced at around $600 (including kit lens).

Pentax today introduced its new Optio A40 and Optio V10 digital cameras. The Optio A40 is a high-end compact camera that features a 12MP sensor with a 3x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD screen, a range of shake-reducing measures, and face-recognition. This digicam has the ability to record in DivX. Meanwhile, the Optio V10 is a 8MP digital camera with a larger 3-inch LCD, and that same 3x optical zoom. The Optio A40 will be released later this month for $300, while the Optio V10 will be available in November for $250.

Pentax introduced a couple of new shooters today. The Z10 features an 8MP CCD sensor (up to ISO 2100), 7x zoom, and 52MB of internal memory, while the S10 has a 10MP CCD sensor with up to 3x zoom, 22MB internal memory, and can shoot DivX MPEG-4 videos. Both cameras share the same digital anti-shake, 2.5-inch LCDs, facial recognition, SDHC compatibility, $250 price tags, and September release dates. One more pic after the jump.

The Pentax Optio E40 is 8.1MP digicam that offers a 3x optical lens. It also features Face Recognition technology, so be careful who you dance with at the club; as well as Digital Shake Reduction to capture crisp pictures of bouncing body parts. All of these functions are made for high-resolution photography. The camera also comes with a 2.4-inch LCD monitor with approx. 110,000 pixels, travel-compatible AA battery power, and high quality AVI Movie capture (YouTube anyone?). The Pentax Optio E40 will be released in September 2007 for $149.95.

BenQ announced two digital cameras this week, the BenQ E820, and C740i. The BenQ E820 digicam is a successor of the 7MP E720 and provides 8MP resolution, face detection, and a mode that shoots pictures at ISO 1600, while the BenQ C740i still offers 7MP sensor but adds the same face detection and ISO 1600 as you would find on the E820. They both feature a higher-grade Pentax lens with 3X optical zoom, include MPEG-4 video recording while zooming in, and a 720×400 widescreen mode for capturing DVD video. No word on pricing or availability so far, but we’re sure both cameras should be available soon.

Pentax introduced its new DSLR camera in tribute to its original film camera back in 1957 when its known as Asahi Optical Joint Stock Co. Dubbed as the AP50, the camera is “designed with vintage touch with its pyramid chassis for the pentaprism viewfinder.” The company will be displaying the Pentax AP50 at its Tokyo headquarters until the end of July.
