Rumor has it that Best Buy is going to cease carrying the 80GB version of the Sony Playstation 3, which is the only current version to have backwards compatibility. If this is true, it’s uncertain how Sony will handle the compatibility issue. The 40GB Playstation 3 is the least expensive at $400, and the White Playstation 3 is slated for US release, but who knows what will happen with the 80GB Version. Check the note after the break.

According to the press release, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) today released the Playstation store for the PC in North America. It allows PSP users to download free and paid content/games to their PSP without using a PlayStation 3.

Sony today released a new commercial video for their new PlayStation 3 in Europe. In the video, they said something about “Blu-Ray” and “faster process…”. Watch the video after the jump to get more details.

Here is good news for Japanese. Sony has decided to release in the Japanese market the new ceramic white Playstation 3 in November 11, 2007. The console is priced at $ 350 for the 40GB version. It seems that Sony has upgraded the unit a bit on the cooling unit because it runs more quietly and efficiently. Check more pics after the jump.
