LG has collaborated with Volkswagen to release the special edition of FM37 Portable Media Player that is specially made for the New Volkswagen Beetle. The gadget sports a bright metallic body. Available in yellow and red, the player is preloaded with Beetle exclusive graphics and sound. Other specs include 2.4 inch touchscreen display, 4GB of internal memory and supports playback of majority of audio and video formats. The LG FM37 is now available in UK and Asian markets for around $200. In addition, the shiny Salsa Red and Yellow color version are available only in Korea.

The Cowon Q5 portable media player will comes with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, offering HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS for web browsing over cellular data. The gadget also sports DVR functionality and GPS navigation with more than 11 million points of interest. Other features include a 5 inch touchscreen display, an integrated FM radio/recorder, voice recording, and stereo speakers. The Q5 will be available at the end of Q2 this year. The 40GB and 60GB models will retail for $500 and $550, respectively.

Zenum Technologies’ upcoming Organum portable media player is slated for the end of 2007 release. The player sports JPG, BMP, MP3, ASF, WMA and WAV file formats, a built in USB2.0 port, 1.8 inch color display, and 2GB of storage capacity. Pricing is still unknown.

The Sony NW-A800 DAP PMP will be available in Japan. Available in 5 different colors; Blue, Pink, Black, Silver and White, the gadget provides a 2 inch display screen and storage capacities of 2, 4 and 8GB. It also sports AAC, WMA, MP3 and ATRAC files for audio, and H.264 for video. No word on pricing yet. Stay tuned for more updates!

Archos just dropped its most noteworthy personal media player, the Archos 704-WiFi.
This one weighs in at 22 ounces and sports a 7-inch, 800×480 pixel touch screen display, 80GB hard drive, 802.11g WiFi, support for playback of MPEG-4 ASP@L5 AVI and WMV video files and MP3 and WMA audio files (with optional plug-ins for adding h.264, MPEG-2 MP@ML, and AAC support), PlaysForSure support, an integrated PDF reader, built-in stereo speakers, Opera web browser, up to 5 hours of video playback, and a retail price of $549.99.
The Archos 704-WiFi also functions as a dockable DVR, so you can record your favorite TV shows right to the player. Suddenly, $550 seems like quite a bargain.
