
Ramos will be upgrading their V8 portable media player. It has a 4.3-inch display, has support for MP4, AVI, DivX, RMVB, MP3, WMA and FLAC file formats, a TV output and a text viewer. Just for an added bonus the player automatically detects rotation and show the on-screen imagery. Unfortunately the price has not yet been revealed for this upgraded PMP. [Engadget]

China has launched the Gemei X-100 PMP/DAP. The X-100 has 2GB of internal memory, a 2.4” QVGA screen, support for MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC, WAV, AMR audio files along with RM/RMVB, ASF, AVI, MP4, and FLV video files. Alpine is launching a new WXGA PMP that costs a whopping $1,100. The IVA-W505 supports DVD/CD/MP3/AAC/WMA/DivX AV with bluetooth hands-free connectivity and touch control over in-car digital media sources including HD/Sat radio (with iTunes tagging) and MP3/WMA players like iPods and USB sticks. Edirol has decided to spice up its R-09HR recorder. It can take up to 96KHz recordings instead of 48KHz and supports SDHC up to 8GB instead of the 4GB. KNC is going to be releasing the M-700 PMP which resembles the Nokia 5310. It features a 2.6-inch widescreen display, 400MHz processor and codecs including DivX and XviD, and 4GB of storage built. No word on when this look-alike will be available and how much it will be. [PMP Today]

Lenovo is dishing out the new Ideapad U8. The Ideapad U8 device features a 4.8-inch touchscreen display and bullseye, optical mouse, EDGE or 3G data, “Live GPS,” hand written note taking, and support for MS Office applications along with a 12-key numeric pad, and lastly a Linux system. SanDisk has now revealed specs on their new Sansa Fuze as well as a shipping date. The model comes in either 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB capcities, feature playback for MP3, WAV, audible, WMA, MPEG-4, and JPEG files, and is compatible with Rhapsody To Go, Napster, and eMusic. Look for the 4GB model in black, red, pink, or blue, the 2GB version in black, and the 8GB in silver. The models are currently going for $79.99, $99.99, and $129.99.
