
Creative will be launching the new ZEN X-Fi player with WiFi, instant messaging client, and built-in media streaming. The player also features built-in speaker, SD slot, FM tuner and voice recorder along with “premium quality headphones” and a battery good for 36 hours of audio and 5 hours of video as well as support for MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, Audible audio, WMV, MPEG4-SP, DivX 4/5, Xvid, and MJPEG video formats. iRiver will be launching the Lplayer PMP. It features a 2-inch QVGA display, 4GB or 8GB of internal memory, a built-in FM tuner, and support for lots of audio/video formats, including MPEG, WMV9, and XVID. Move over iPod Touch! Because Ramos will be dropping a new PMP called the T8. It features a 4.3″ 480 x 272 resolution touch screen display, RK2706 chipset, RMVB, AVI and FLV format support and FLAC and APE lossless with Microsoft PlayFX audio enhancements. No word on the price, but it might be pretty cheap. [PMPToday]

Cowon has apparently thought of the consumers, so much that they made a 16GB edition of the player that is now available through JetMall. Other than that, all the specs remain the same. Just be prepared to shell out about $240 right now and join the club. [AnythingButiPod]

Newman is doing well as far as PMPs are concerned with the M8000 available with a 250GB hard drive. But if you can’t afford that much space, then you might wanna think about the 80GB, 120GB, and 160GB models. Other features include a 4″ TFT display at 320 x 240 resolution, TV out, support for MP3, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 formats, a 1.3 megapixel camera, SD memory card slot, game emulation, and PVR functionality. Aigo has a great new PMP called the MV5920 which features video playback at 720p, supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AVI, DivX, XviD, ASF, WMV9, RM, MP3, WMA, WAV, AC3, and OGG files, and a hard as big as 160GB. No word on pricing for this above average PMP, so you’ll have to wait a little longer. [PMP Today]

Yoto will be dropping a new PMP called the M300. The M300 supports AVI, DIVX, MPEG4, RM, XVID, RMVB, FLV, MP3, WMA, FLAC, APE, JPEG, GIF, and BMP files formats and has a 400 x 240 WQVGA screen (which isn’t touchscreen). No word on pricing or availability, but this doesn’t seem to be all that it’s cracked up to be. [PMP Today]

Memorex will be releasing both the clip and play and the MMP8590 PMPs. The Clip & Play is self explanatory and can be clipped on your clothing, has a 2-line OLED display,and an integrated FM radio. While the MMP8590 comes with a 1.5″ OLED display, lacks video playback, has photo playback and voice recording. The 2GB Clip & Play and 2GB MMP8590 will be available for $49.99 and $59.99. Crave UK has discovered that there will be some changes to the iriver which include dropping that built-in speaker and redoing it in aluminum as well as a “much brighter” version of a screen. According to rumor, the E150 and E200 will be out sometime in the summer, but it’s not written in stone yet. [Engadget]

Samsung will be launching the S2 “Pebble” portable media player featuring 1GB of storage, can tune in FM stations, and play back for MP3, WMA, and OGG files. You can get the S2 in green, purple, red, and black / white. The other model is the S3, a 4GB or 8GB PMP with a 240 x 320 display, playback for MP3, MPEG4, and WMA files, an FM tuner, flash games, in green, red, blue, or black / white.
