Compared to the original Sony Reader, it comes in silver or blue, feature a slightly different layout, twice the internal memory, and maybe an updated display. No word on pricing or when it will be available yet, but it is said to be at $299.

The Philip’s DVB-T Player sports a 10.2-Inch screen, more than enough to view the big game on along with an analog tuner and external antenna. It also features a seven-day Electronic Program guide for picking shows carefully. The program guide also allows you to play files off SD cards. Unfortunately the battery life is only 2.5 hours,so if you’re thinking about watching an all-day marathon, think again. No word on pricing or availability yet.

The TOM-019 PMP from Hong Kong’s Topway measures at just 6mm (or 0.24 inches) thick and weighing a mere 26grams. The gadget supports MP3, WAV and WMA audio files and plays MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG2.5 and MPEG4 video files on its 1.8-inch TFT display. This media player also allows digital audio recording in an MP3 format and has an address book and an FM tuner. Additionally, the gadget also views BMP, JPG and GIF images and comes in capacities of up to 2GB. No info on the release date at this time.

Olympus’ latest digital voice recorder incorporates an integrated USB connector. Dubbed as the Olympus Voice Trek V-41, it will be released in the Japanese market in September for $140. The gadget has 512MB integrated memory for recording. In addition, its microphone supports stereo XQ/HQ/SP and HQ/SP/LP in mono recording modes. The player sports MP3 or WMA file formats.

KindyElec’s latest PMP looks ordinary but it has fairly good picture quality. Including both analog and DVB-T TV tuners. Aside from that you get all the basic features such as the LED-7 inch screen, 40 GB hard drive, multi-format memory card reader, 2 hour battery life, DivX as well as other audio and video formats. Unfortunately if you want one, you’ll have to order a minimum of 200 units.

MP3s may own the music these days, but it still doesn’t motivate lazy people (like me) to digitize their CD collection. This CD/MP3 player duo concept is an MP3 player and a very very portable CD player. Squeezing the CD in its butterfly-knife body this player spins the CD in the nude, feeding your naked CD fetish and can be used as a self-defense weaponry. It’s suggested that the device rips CDs for you (weee!!) so this could be the true end of the mighty disc-era.
