Buffalo has released a new 500GB ultra-thin portable hard drive namely the Buffalo HD-PVU2. Measuring 81mm x 16mm x 130 mm, it comes with USB 2.0 connectivity and the eco-Manager software that will automatically power down the hard drive when idling to save power. Available in black or white version, the 320GB model is priced at 10,500 Yen ($112), while the 500GB model retails for 15,330 Yen ($164). More

Epson has introduced their latest home theater projectors at the IFA conference this week. The Epson EH-TW5500 and EH-TW4400 feature full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and 1600 ANSI lumens. The TW4400 projector boasts a 130000:1 contrast ratio, while the TW5500 provides a greater 200000:1 contrast ratio. Both projectors adopt Epson’s D7 C2Fine display panel delivering bright and crystal clear images. iRiver comes back with their new gadget. Known as the VR-1, it is actually a Linear PCM recorder that comes in a 2GB or a 4GB of storage space. Toshiba today rolled out its Journe Touch multimedia touchscreen Mobile Internet Device. Dubbed as the “Ultimate Home Media Tablet”, the gadget comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display, which is large enough for viewing videos or pictures, and also works great for browsing the Web on the go via its built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. The Journe Touch also provides HDMI connectivity through an optional cradle that enables stored content to be viewed on any HD-ready TV.
