
Epson has recently unveiled a new projection screen at MWC 2011. Known as the Epson ES1000, this tabletop projection display is designed specifically to be light, small and travel friendly. The ES1000 is capable of accommodating images of up to 50-inch diagonally, and appears to provide clear and crisp images, regardless of projection size. Acer has entered the 3D projector market by releasing their latest Acer S5200, which runs at a 120Hz refresh rate. This projector also supports short-throw capability that enables it to throw 81-inch images from as near as a meter away. However, you should have a computer with a compatible graphics card and a pair of 3D glasses to enjoy your favorite movies in full 3D. Optoma has showcased their latest home theater projector ‘HD20′ during this year’s CES. Powered by Texas Instruments’ DLP chipset, the HD20 provides 1920 x 1080p Full HD resolution, 1700 ANSI lumens and 4000:1 contrast ratio. Sanyo has announced two new super bright portable projectors to its range by releasing the LP-XM150 and LP-XM100. Designed specifically for large conference rooms or lecture halls, these projectors provides a native resolution of 1204 x 768 pixels, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 6000 ANSI lumens brightness (LP-XM150), 5000 ANSI lumens brightness (LP-XM100), a 7W mono speaker and several connectivity ports including Ethernet, S-video, DVI-D, D-Sub and USB. InFocus today introduced a new series of short-throw projectors, the IN1500. Targeted towards small and medium-sized businesses, this lightweight and portable projector comes with a short throw lens that offers 20 percent optical zoom allowing for edge-of-table projection. It also provides a native resolution of up to WXGA, 3,000 lumens brightness, 1800:1 contrast ratio and several connectivity ports including DisplayLink, HDMI 1.3 and LitePort PC-free presenter. The Samsung A600 is the company’s latest home theater projector that boasts full HD 1080p performance. Epson has showcased another all-in-one home cinema projector at IFA 2009. Dubbed as the EH-DM3, this highly portable projector boasts a built-in DVD player that not only plays your DVD discs but also plays DivX files. As for the projector itself, it provides a native screen resolution of 940 x 540 pixels, 2000 lumens brightness and 3000:1 contrast ratio. Other features include built-in 2x10W stereo speakers, a microphone input for karaoke, an HDMI port, a USB port and a PC connection port. NEC today introduced two new DLP projectors to its NP Value series by announcing the NP110 and NP215. Both of these projectors provide 2500 lumens brightness, 2000:1 contrast ratio, up to 5000 hours of lamp life (in ECO mode), BrilliantColor technology, built-in wall color correction presets, a filter-free design and consume no more than 0.49W in standby mode. The NP110 only comes with SVGA (800 x 600) resolution, while the NP215 offers a higher resolution of 1024 x 768 (XGA) pixels and features a built-in RJ45 Ethernet LAN connection.
