Foxconn’s new PD-S2900 DLP projector is about the tiniest of projectors with an SVGA resolution and 55 lumens of brightness. No word on a price just yet, but it should hit Taiwan sometime in the third quarter. [AVING]

Mitsubishi has done it again with the new XD211U DLP projector. The XD211U features a 1,024 x 768 and brightness of 2,200-lumens along with a new DDP 2230 TI microarray, and a theft-deterrent security hook. Projection Design has now shipped the world’s first DLP projector. It features a WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) display, supports 1080p content, 4:3 formats, DLP .95 chip and 2x 300W UHP lamps, 2,000 hours of life at full power as well as inputs for DVI, HDMI 1.3a, VGA, and component. It comes with LCoS technology, dual HDMI 1.3 ports, wide lens shift capacity, and 3 viewing modes (standard, dynamic and movie). Nikko has launched an improvement over the R2-D2 DVD projector. It now projects a 260″ image onto your screen or wall compared to the 80″. The projector also features 1,800 lumens brightness, 1,800:1 contrast ratio, iPod dock, memory card slot, USB port, integrated surround sound 20W speaker system, FM transmitter, and a Millennium Falcon remote control. The KURO KRF-9000FD full HD projector from Pioneer is using high reflectivity LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) technology to produce contrast ratio of 30,000:1. The projector also offers 2x motorized zoom/focus lens, 80% vertical and +-34% horizontal lens shift, 600 lumens brightness, 2 HDMI ports, 24db noise level and 280W of power consumption. View Sonic is dropping a new LCD projector known as the PJ513DB. It features up to 2,200 lumens of brightness and a contrast ratio of 2,000 to 1, a resolution of 800 x 600 resolution, and supports up to 720p/1080i widescreen video.
