Ricoh has decided to enter the portable projector market by releasing the new Ricoh PJ Series. Designed for business people on-the-go, the Ricoh PJ Series consists of five models including the PJ X3131, PJ X3241, PJ X3241N, PJ WX3131 and PJ WX3231N. These projectors offer a minimum brightness rating of at least 2,500 lumens, 3LCD color clarity and a built-in speaker. The PJ X3131, PJ X3241 and PJ X3241N models offer an XGA resolution, while the PJ WX3131 and PJ WX3231N models support a WXGA resolution. The Ricoh PJ X3241N and PJ WX3231N provide advanced networking capabilities for shared use and remote management. ViewSonic is back with two new ultra-portable LED projectors, the PLED-W200 and PLED-W500. Designed for business travelers or on-the-road presenters, both projectors provide a 20,000 hour-long lamp life, a WXGA widescreen resolution for 720p HD viewing, a 3D-ready with 120Hz frame rates, USB 2.0 ports, and an SD card slot to display documents, PDFs, videos, photos and other multimedia files without a computer. What’s more, the ViewSonic PLED-W500 is a higher-end model that comes equipped with an HDMI 1.3 port and a 1GB of storage space, so you can save your PowerPoint files. The ViewSonic PLED-W200 offers a 250 ANSI lumens, while PLED-W500 has a higher 500 ANSI lumens. The InFocus IN5314 is designed for use in schools, conference rooms, or houses of worship. Priced at $3500, this 3D-capable projector is powered by the new DLP DarkChip display technology, which is combined with the company’s BrilliantColor enhancement to produce crystal-clear images. The InFocus IN5314 offers three lens choices (standard, a short throw, and a long throw), a 1280 x 800 native resolution, a 4000 lumens of brightness, and a 2000:1 of contrast ratio. The Epson MegaPlex MG-850HD and MegaPlex MG-50 portable projectors are now available in the US market. Both projectors feature a built-in dock for iPod, iPhone and iPad, two stereo speakers, a microphone input, a USB Plug ‘n Play instant setup, and HDMI and VGA inputs. The MegaPlex MG-850HD and MegaPlex MG-50 also incorporate the 3LCD technology to deliver reliable performance and rich, vibrant colors. Epson is back with two new budget-friendly projectors, the PowerLite S11 and X12. Designed for schools, these feature-rich projectors provide several connectivity options such as RS-232, USB Plug ‘n Play, and PC Free. The PowerLite S11 produces an SVGA resolution and a 2,600 lumens of brightness. The PowerLite X12 offers an XGA resolution and a 2,800 lumens of brightness. The new Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 6010 projector adopts the company’s Bright 3D Drive for enhanced brightness in 3D mode. This technology also boosts the image refresh rate from 240Hz to 480Hz. The projector features a 2400 lumens brightness, up to 6,000 hours of lamp life, two HDMI inputs, and up to 200,000:1 of contrast ratio. Sony Electronics today introduced its VPL-VW1000ES 4K home theater projector. With 2,000 ANSI-lumens of brightness, the VPL-VW1000ES delivers nearly twice the output of previous Sony home theater projectors, which makes it perfect for screen sizes up to 200-inch diagonally. The VW1000ES employs an entirely new SXRD 4K panel and the company’s Iris3 technology, allowing the projector to produce outstanding deep blacks and an incredible 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. What’s more, this home theater projector also features a built-in transmitter and an exclusive Super Resolution 4K “upscaler” that dramatically enhances 2D and 3D 1080P content. Mitsubishi Electric will introduce the HC7800D at the CEDIA Home Theater Show in Indianapolis. The 3D projector uses Texas Instruments’ latest DLP 0.065-inch DMD chip to create high quality 3D images in full HD 1080P resolution. Its ultra-quiet fan creates 25dBa in low mode. This home theater projector also provides an extra long lamp life of up to 5000 hours in low mode, a superb 1600 Lumens of brightness, a high-contrast (up to 30,000:1 full on/full off, up to 700:1 ANSI contrast ratio) images that are smooth, dazzling and true to the original 2D and 3D content. Sony today unveiled its newest home projector at the IFA conference in Berlin. Known as the Sony VPL-VW95ES, this projector is actually a successor to the VPL-VW90ES, which was announced last September. Based on the new dynamic lamp control technology, the new Sony VPL-VW95ES brings 3D film to life with vivid, crisp, bright and vibrant imagery that will satisfy the greatest film enthusiast’s desires. This projector is equipped with Sony’s Advanced Iris 3 technology which includes a contrast enhancer to maximize the dynamic contrast ratio when used with the iris, giving viewers a crisper and brighter final image. The VPL-VW95ES also adopts the Motionflow technology that reduces motion blur and judder, giving viewers superb picture quality.
