
Another 3LCD projector ‘VPL-EW130′ from Sony is about to enter the market. Aimed at both educational and business markets, this new projector provides 1280 x 800 native resolution, 3000 ANSI lumens brightness, 2600:1 contrast ratio, up to 6,000 hours of lamp life and consumes just 1W in standby mode. It also comes with a built-in 1W mono speaker and an HDMI connection interface. The VPL-EW130 will start shipping in May for unannounced price yet. [Sony]

Canon today introduced five new portable LCD projectors in the US market including the WXGA 16:10 LV-8225 and the XGA V-7490, LV-7390, LV-7295 and LV-7290. These projectors are targeted at value-conscious users such as educators, traveling salespeople and small-business entrepreneurs. Based on LCD projection technology, Canon’s new projectors offer high brightness, long lamp and filter life, and the convenience of auto set-up functions for signal input, PC signal type, and vertical-keystone correction. Here is a video that shows a display that can be used to show 3D images with the usage of fog and multiple projectors. Designed by some researcher from Osaka University in Japan, these projectors are set up in different angles around a fog screen. NEC has unveiled two new short throw projectors, the M300XS and M300WS. Both projectors are ideal for education and small-to-medium-sized businesses. Replacing the NP610S and NP510WS projectors, these new models feature 0.47:1 throw ratio for easier installation on a wall above the screen or whiteboard, and a short-throw distance of 1.8 to 3.6 feet. The NEC M300XS and M300WS also provide XGA and WXGA native resolution, respectively. These projectors have a 3000 lumens brightness with up to 5000-hour of lamp life, HDMI, D-sub, USB port and a built-in 10-watt speaker. BenQ will release the new W1100 Full HD home entertainment projector in Europe later this month. This Full HD 1080p home theater projector is engineered with TI’s DLP technology and features Full HD 1080p resolution with an optical system comprised of 12 delicate lens elements to produce sharper picture quality. The BenQ W1100 also provides a 2000 ANSI lumen of brightness, a 4500:1 contrast ratio, SRS WOW HD technology and a couple of 10W built-in speakers. No word on pricing at this time. [BenQ]

BenQ will release the MW512 Compact 3D DLP video projector in the Japanese market. Designed for schools, offices or home theater, the BenQ MW512 can projects a 60-inch wide screen with 2D or 3D videos. Measuring 265mm x 210mm x 100mm and weighing at just 2.6Kg, this high-end projector also provides a WXGA resolution (1280×800) with a 4000:1 contrast ratio and a 2800 ANSI lumens brightness. If you are searching for a new high performance 3D video projector, then check out the JVC DLA-F110. The projector features a contrast ratio of 30,000:1 and a 1700 Lumens brightness. This 3D video projector is primarily designed for use in a large venue, museums or planetariums. The JVC DLA-F110 3D video projector is priced at a hefty 900,000 Yen or approx. $11,000. [JVC]

Barco has announced the commercial release of their new digital cinema projector, the DP2K-P. Designed to meet the needs of the post-production market, this 4K ready cinema projector is able to provide a 2K HD (2048 x 1080) resolution or up to a 4K HD (4096 x 2160) resolution, 5400 ANSI lumens brightness, 2500:1 contrast ratio and 16:9 aspect ratio. The new Infocus IN146 is designed for small rooms providing a short-throw projection with a 1280 x 800 resolution without any HD upscaling required. The InFocus IN146 is capable of projecting a 60-inch image from just 2.5 feet or 0.7 meters from the projection surface. The projector has a long life lamp, providing up to 6,000-hour of use and a 2,700 lumens of brightness. Sadly, there is no info on pricing at this moment. [InFocus]

The new Sanyo PLC-WL2503 projector supports WXGA resolution and uses a 3 LCD design with a pen and pointer that allows users to make annotations on any projection surface. The projector also supports a 2,500 Lumens of brightness and a 500:1 contrast ratio. The PLC-WL3503 is capable of creating images between 60- and 110-inches at 47-inches away from the screen.
