
BoyGenius has reported that the RIM BlackBerry Thunder touchscreen phone will be available via Verizon. The gadget is a “hybrid device with CDMA EV-DO Rev. C, and GSM HSPA for traveling internationally. There is no info on pricing at this time. [BoyGenius via Upcoming Cell Phones]

Good news for Verizon subscribers because they will be able to enjoy the RIM BlackBerry Niagara when it is released in May 2009. The EV-DO handset will feature QWERTY keyboard, 480 × 360 LCD display, EV-DO Rev. A support, aGPS support, a 3.2MP shooter, 4.7 OS platform, BES 5.0 support (HTML email, etc) and a Qualcomm MSM7600 processor. There is no word on pricing so far. Here is good news for our folks at Singapore. Research In Motion (RIM) has recently announced the availability of its BlackBerry Pearl 8120 smartphone in Singapore later this month. In case you didn’t know, this smartphone comes jam packed with microSD/SDHC slot, 2MP digital camera with 5x digital zoom and video capture capability, and Wi-Fi support. This smartphone’s camera also allows you to capture video in two resolutions 240×180 or 176×144 for sharing via MMS.

Research In Motion has unveiled its first dual-mode BlackBerry 8820 smartphone that comes with a full-fledged QWERTY keyboard, a 320×240 display, EDGE/GPRS/GSM, Wi-Fi, and trackball navigation system. It also offers an integrated GPS, the latest media player enhancements, and support for microSD/microSDHC (high capacity) memory cards up to 32GB, The smartphone supports 802.11 a/b/g standards allowing you to access the internet over public hotspots. Pricing info is still unknown.

People and companies are getting behind the BlackBerry Pearl, so much that it’s been released in Black, White and now Red. Cingular is going to be carrying the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 in Red, so keep an eye out.

This gadget features 1.3MP digicam, a multimedia player with support for MP3, AAC, MPEG4, and H.263 file formats, HTML browser, ‘SureType’ keyboard, and Bluetooth connectivity.
