Casio will launch the new G-SHOCK GB-6900 Bluetooth LE watch on March 16th, 2012 in the Japanese market. Available in red, black or white, this rugged timepiece adopts the Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) technology, which is compatible with the NEC Medias LTE N-04D and Medias PP N-01D Android smartphones. The G-SHOCK GB-6900 is able to synchronize with these Bluetooth LE-enabled smartphones, allowing users to show incoming calls, emails or SMS messages on the watch’s display. As its name suggests, the Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) technology consumes less power than the classic Bluetooth technology. The Casio G-SHOCK GB-6900 retails for 18,000 Yen ($231). [TechCrunch]

General Dynamics Itronix today introduced the GD400 rugged handheld computer. Powered by the Microsoft Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 operating system, the gadget is equipped with an ultra-sensitive GPS sensor, a barcode scanner/imager, a 3.2MP AutoFocus camera with flash, and a 3.7-inch daylight-viewable, water resistant touchscreen display. The GD400 is IP54-certified against dust and water intrusion and built to withstand multiple drops onto concrete. The portable computer features an ARM Cortex-A8 processor with the NEON multimedia technology, accelerating the transmission of multimedia and large data files across WiFi and wireless wide area networks. Habey USA today unveiled its new 12-inch touchscreen rugged PC, the Habey PPC-6512. Powered by a 1.8GHz dual core Intel Atom processor, the computer features a 512MB nVidia ION GT218 graphics card, a 1.3-megapixel camera located on top of the monitor, a 2.5-inch removable hard drive bay fastened by metallic thumb screws for easy removal, and a VESA wall mount. The Habey PPC-6512 can also output dual independent displays via VGA and HDMI ports with a max resolution of up to 2560×1600. Additional specs include four USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, LAN, S/PDIF HD digital audio, and dual internal mini-PCI Express slots. This rugged computer supports both Windows and Linux operating systems.
