
LaCie’s new LaCinema Rugged HD is a USB-powered external hard drive that will output 1080p video to a TV via HDMI. The device provides up to 500GB of storage capacity, that is enough to store plenty of 1080p movies. This HD player works with all the major codecs including H.264, WMV9, and MKV. Eurotech today released three in-wall panel computers that are powered by Intel’s Atom processor. The 12-inch Vx-120F-N270 and 15-inch Vx-150F-N270 are powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor, a fanless design, a high-brightness LCD screen, two Gigabit Ethernet jacks, a front-mounted USB port and an expansion slot for add-on boards. Meanwhile, the Bx-400F-N270 is a rugged in-wall panel computer, which can resist mechanical and temperature stresses, commonly found in industrial applications. Pentax will release its rugged point-and-shoot camera next month. Known as the Optio W80, the camera is waterproof up to 16 feet underwater, works in 14 degree weather, and will survive drops from 3.3 feet.
