
LaCie has itroduced its 500GB Rugged Hard Drive. Designed by Neil Poulton, the device features a scratch-resistant aluminum shell and shock-resistant rubber case. The hard drive is available in USB 2.0 model or the bus-powered version that supports USB 2.0, FireWire 400 and FireWire 800. Here is a new external rugged hard disk drive from Logitec Japan, which can support a drop from up to 75cm high. Measuring 89mm x 129mm x 23mm and weighing 180grams, the device features a stylish and slim body. No word on pricing or availability so far.

Augmentix today revealed the XTG630 rugged laptop which has the distinction of being one of the fastest in the market. It comes jam packed with a 14-inch LCD screen, Core 2 Duo processors up to 2.4GHz, EVDO/HSDPA and 802.11n. The company says that the XTG630 runs the same basic disk image as a Dell Latitude D630, which allows anyone with the software restore the system from scratch or add Dell accessories knowing they will work. Sadly, there is no word on pricing do far.
