
Samsung has expanded its LED HDTV line-up with the all-new 8500 Series. Available in 46-inch and 55-inch sizes, these new HDTVs support a 1080p High Definition playback, 7,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 2ms response time, a 240Hz refresh rate and an Energy Star 3.0 savings mode. Samsung has announced a new line-up of high-density hard drives ‘Spinpoint F3′ which are aimed at high-end computing environments. Coming in 500GB and 1TB capacities, these new 3.5-inch drives work at 7200RPM and feature a 3.0 Gbps SATA interface, Native Command Queuing (NCQ), a 16MB/32MB buffer memory, and make use of 500GB platters. Samsung has showed off their latest eBook reader ‘SNE-50K’ for the South Korean market. Measuring only 9mm thick and weighing just 6.5 ounces, this portable device offers a 5-inch touchscreen display and a 512MB of storage capacity. Sadly, there’s no WiFi or 3G connectivity included. The Samsung HT-BD3252 is the company’s latest Blu-ray home theater system that offers a total output power of 1000 watts. The Samsung S9110 is a new touchscreen watch phone that can synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. It is actually a new competitor to the famous LG GD910 watch phone. The Samsung S9110 is also claimed to be the world’s thinnest watch phone so far. Measuring at just 11.98-mm thick, the phone provides a 1.76-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth integration, Voice Recognition, e-mail, speakerphone and a music player. First introduced back in June at the World IT Show 2009 in Korea, Samsung’s latest WiMax enabled handheld device ‘Mondi MID‘ aka SWD-M100 is finally coming to US starting on August 1st via Sprint. Running on Windows Mobile 6.1 pro, this mobile internet device boasts a 4.3-inch full touchscreen display, a full QWERTY slide keyboard, a 3MP camera, GPS function, WiFi, Bluetooth and operates on Sprint’s WiMax network. Samsung will launch the Samsung SMX-K40 and SMX-K45 entry-level camcorders in August 2009. Both video recorders can record up to 720 x 480 resolution and feature 65x “Intelli-Zoom” (52x optical zoom) lenses, a 2.7-inch LCD screen, upload-to-YouTube functionality, optical image stabilization to capture the moment perfectly even if your hands are shaking, and a HDMI port to connect to your HDTV. Samsung today introduced its new 250GB 1.8 inch hard disk drive, which is dubbed as the Spinpoint N3U. The storage device uses a native 2.0 USB interface that will eliminate possible points of failure due to loose cable connections and optimizes performance by eliminating the interrupt service time for the bridge board to convert PATA to USB signals. What makes the N3U more special is that it consumes about 40 percent less power than a 2.5-inch hard drive of an equivalent capacity.
