NEC has announced the commercial launch of the HS100-10, the world’s first scanner that can simultaneously acquire fingerprint and finger vein characteristics without having to touch your finger. Since the scanner scans both fingerprints and vein characteristics, this technology is more secure and harder to cheat. The device combines a conventional optical sensor with the company’s original finger data capturing method.
