Folks in Japan will receive the latest Blu-ray HDD combo from Sharp. The BD-HDS43 is a mid-level Blu-ray player that boasts a single digital and analog TV tuner, a 320GB of HDD and the capacity to record in dual layer Blu-Ray disc. The Sharp BD-HDS43 is priced at around 85000 Yen ($942). [Sharp]
Sharp UK has finally launched the Sharp DKAP7 iPod dock that is currently available in Black/White, Black/Silver, and Black/Red color combinations. The 2.1 channel portable speaker system is compatible with iPods up to 4th generation and has a built-in subwoofer with the HDSS technology. Sharp Japan has announced their LX series of LED TV that is currently available in 40, 42, 52 and 60-inch models. The LED panel provides a full HD resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels, a contrast ratio of 200,0000:1, a 176 degree viewing angle and a white LED backlit which consumes 30% less power. Additional features include a six speaker sound system which delivers 2.1 channel sound, Analog / Digital TV tuner, Ethernet port and three HDMI ports. Sharp has recently unveiled their upcoming Mobile Internet Device ‘NetWalker’ for the Japanese market. Powered by a 800MHz Freescale i.MX515 processor, this new MID offers a 5-inch touchscreen display with 1024 x 600 resolution, a full QWERTY keyboard layout, a 512MB RAM, a 4GB of storage, a microSDHC card slot, WiFi, two USB 2.0 ports, a miniUSB 2.0 port, 10 hours of battery life and runs on Ubuntu Linux 9.04 OS. Sharp has added a new 52-inch LED HDTV to its AQUOS range in the form of the LC52LE700UN. This widescreen TV supports a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and features a 120Hz refresh rate, 4ms response time, 450 cd/m2 brightness and a viewing angle of 176 degrees. In addition, it also features several connectivity ports including four HDMI, USB, 2 components, 2 composite and a VGA PC. What’s more, the TV also provides AQUOS Net, which is Sharp’s internet service that provides games, weather reports and stocks. Sharp has rolled out the LE600 and LE700 LED TV series. The former comes in 32-inch, 40-inch and 46-inch models, meanwhile the latter has all those plus the added advantage of a 52-inch model. Both the LE600 and LE70 series feature Full HD resolution, LED backlights, a contrast ratio of 4,000:1, Sharp’s “X-Gen Panel” with its proprietary “Mega Contrast” and “Brilliant colour Processor” technology. The Sharp LE700 is better than the LE600 because it has a quick 4ms response time, four HDMI ports, and a USB port that allows playback of MP3 and JPEG files directly from a USB Flash drive. Sharp will release nine LED lamps for the Japanese market. These environmental friendly LED lamps feature a similar screw-in base with standard lamps that makes them backward compatible with the ordinary light bulbs sockets. SoftBank has rolled out Sharp AQUOS SHOT 933SH 3G camera phone that comes equipped with 10-megapixel CCD camera. Measuring 110.6mm × 51mm × 16.7mm and weights 127grams, the phone also features a 3.3-inch VGA (854 x 480) wide LCD display, a 0.8-inch OLED sub-display, up to ISO 12800, 1-Seg support, GPS, Bluetooth connectivity, global roaming service, and video recording up to 10MB capacity. Sharp Corporation has successfully developed the new LR0GC02 Solar Module for mobile devices that measures at only 0.8 mm thick. These solar cells are based on polycrystalline silicon and provide a maximum power of 300 mW. Sharp has rolled out the world’s first 20″ LCD TV ‘AQUOS DX’ that comes equipped with an integrated Blu-ray and DVD recorder.
