Sharp PW-AC30 And PW-AC40 Pocket Dictionaries

Sharp today unveiled two new pocket dictionaries. Known as the Sharp Brain PW-AC30 and PW-AC40, the former supports Chinese handwriting input, while the latter features Korean handwriting input. Both electronic dictionaries feature a 2.4-inch color touchscreen display with a QVGA resolution, a 3.5mm audio jack and a QWERTY keypad. The Sharp Brain PW-AC30 and PW-AC40 will be available in Japan on July 15, 2011 for 20,000 Yen ($246) a pop. [Akihabara]

Sharp Will Launch LED AQUOS R5 Series In Japan

Sharp is ready to launch the LED AQUOS R5 Series in Japan later this month. This LED TV features a DBXL/DVD burner, a digital TV tuner, a USB recording, YouTube and Ethernet. Both 26-inch and 32-inch models provide an HD resolution (1366×768), while the 40-inch model has a Full HD resolution (1080p). Available in 26-inch, 32-inch and 40-inch model, the Sharp LED AQUOS R5 Series are priced at 120,000 Yen ($1,499), 140,000 Yen ($1,749) and 180,000 Yen ($2,248). [Akihabara]

Sharp And NHK Will Introduce 85-inch 33-megapixel LCD Display

NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) and Sharp Corporation have collaborated to develop an 85-inch LCD display, which is compatible with the Super Hi-Vision. FYI, the Super Hi-Vision is a next-generation television broadcast format, which has dramatically higher resolution than the current HDTV. With approximately 33-megapixel (7,680 x 4,320 pixels), or 16 times the resolution of HDTV, the Super Hi-Vision will offer powerful, life-like image reproduction. The 85-inch Super Hi-Vision-compatible LCD display also offers a 300 cd/m2 brightness level and a gradation 10 bits for each RGB color. This LCD display will be exhibited at NHK’s Science & Technology Research Laboratories in Tokyo from May 26 to 29, 2011. Read more

The Sharp Free-Style AQUOS LC-20FEI portable TV comes jam packed with a Wi-Fi connectivity. This 20-inch HDTV sports a 1366 × 768 resolution with LED backlight capability, a 400,000:1 contrast ratio, a couple of 2W speakers and a USB HDD recording feature for its Wireless TV tuner. The Sharp Free-Style AQUOS LC-20FEI also has a DLNA support that allows you to access, store and watch content that are located on your home network. Sharp LC-70LE732U 70-inch AQUOUS Quattron LED LCD TV

Sharp has recently launched the LC-70LE732U 70-inch AQUOUS Quattron LED LCD TV. It is known as the largest LCD television available on the market today. The new LED LCD TV comes with full HD 1080p resolution, full-array LED backlighting, Quattron Quad Pixel Technology (for improved colors), a 69.5-inch diagonal display, and Sharp AQUOS Advantage Live(SM) customer service. What’s more, the Sharp LC-70LE732U also has four HDMI inputs, a built-in WiFi for access to on-demand movies through Netflix, VUDU, CinemaNow and run apps such as Facebook, Pandora, Twitter and Flicker. Sharp Unveils Three BDXL 3D Aquos DVRs

Sharp has recently introduced a trio of the Aquos BDXL 3D DVRs in Japan. The Sharp BD-HDW80, BD-HDW75 and BD-HDW73 come equipped with a 1TB HDD, a 500GB and a 320GB HDD, respectively. All models feature a dual Digital TV tuner and an improved dubbing system, allowing you to record your favorite TV shows and store them on the built-in HDD. The Sharp BD-HDW80, BD-HDW75 and BD-HDW73 also support WiFi connectivity and the latest 100GB BD-RE XL discs. [Akihabara]

Sharp LE820 HDTV With Quattron Quad Pixel Technology

The Sharp LE820 HDTV is equipped with the new Quattron Quad Pixel Technology, which was introduced at CES 2011. The Quattron Quad Pixel Technology takes the traditional red, green, blue color spectrum on standard HDTV’s to a new level with the introduction of a yellow pixel creating Quad Pixel Technology. The Sharp LE820 HDTV offers a 120Hz refresh rate, edge LED lighting, W-Fi connectivity and includes onboard apps for Netflix, Vudu and CinemaNow streaming. Sharp has begun shipping their newest 3D home theatre projector ‘XV-Z17000‘ in the US via HT Market online store. To remind you, the XV-Z17000 supports both 2D and 3D images and provides 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 30,000:1 contrast ratio and 1600 ANSI lumens brightness. Sharp Japan will launch a couple of new cordless handsets in the Japanese market. Dubbed as the JD-3C1CL and JD-3C1CW, these new cordless phones come jam packed with a digital clock, a calendar and a 2.8-inch LCD display, which can also display photos. The Sharp JD-3C1CL and JD-3C1CW also have a birthday reminder function with a countdown timer. When not in use, its LCD can be used to display your favorite photos. Designed specifically to help anyone to boost their English skills and their TOEIC score, the Brain PW-AC20 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a QWERTY keyboard and is pre-loaded with several English dictionaries as well as TOEIC’s latest series of test.
