
Sharp’s Solar 936SH and 934SH phones will be available in Japan via SoftBank. The 934SH (pictured left) features a 3-inch external display that can display time, date, weather, news, and other information. The phone also has an 8MP camera, a waterproof shell, and a UV sensor. Meanwhile, the Solar Hybrid 936SH (pictured right) supports IPX7 water resistance, an 8MP camera, and a full wide VGA display. What makes the Sharp 936SH cool is that it has a big solar panel in the front that will provide you one minute of call time or two hours of standby per 10 minutes of charging. Sharp is set to release four new energy-saving full HD LCD TVs ‘AQUOS D Series’ that are available in 32-inch, 40-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch models. Some of the features the D Series offers include an advanced new image-improvement technology ‘high-quality master engine’ for increasing the video quality, an internet connection capability, a 15000:1 contrast ratio, a 1920 x 1080 resolution and much more. The 32-inch model is priced at 200,000 Yen, the 40-inch for 250,000 Yen, the 46-inch for 350,000 Yen and the 52-inch for 450,000 yen, all will be available in Japanese Market starting June 10. Sharp has rolled out two new home theater racks namely the AN-AR410 and the AN-AR510 which support 37″ – 42″ and 42″ – 52″ LCD TV’s respectively. Both racks are equipped with a 3.1 channel surround sound, 3 x HDMI ports, 2 x Digital inputs and a digital amplifier which delivers an output of 485W. The AN-AR410 is priced at 90,000 Yen ($900), meanwhile the AN-AR510 sells for 100,000 Yen ($1000). Both units will be available in Japan starting June 10. [Impress via NewLaunches]

AU KDDI and Sharp will release a spanking new cell phone in Japan that will come with a solar panel embedded in its lid, allowing you to recharge your handset wherever you go as long as there is sufficient sunlight. The phone can be recharged rapidly. A 10 minute charge under direct sunlight is perfect for one minute of talktime or two hours of standby time. Sanyo has recently announced the PLC-WXE45 LCD projector that is perfect for use in the classroom. The projector offers a short throw range and networking capabilities. It can create an 80-inch image from a distance of 34 inches away at a native 1280×800 resolution and in a 16:10 aspect ratio. The contrast ratio is rated at 500:1, while brightness is set at 2,000 lumens. Connections include a VGA port, S-video connection and composite cable. The PLC-WXE45 is now available now for $1,795. Sharp today released three new eco-friendly AQUOS LCD TVs that are available in a 40 inch, 42 inch and 52 inch models. The new AQUOS offers 15000:1 contrast ratio and a brightness of 450cd/m2. The company has successfully reduced their power consumption with an improved Backlight and overall power consumption system capable to bring to 175kWh/Year for the 52 inch, 145kWh/Year for the 46 inch, and only 120kWh/Year for the 40 inch model. The 40 inch model is priced at 200 000 Yen (€153), the 46 inch for 260 000 Yen (€1995), and the 52 inch for 390 000 Yen (€3990). [Sharp]

I can say there is nothing special about these new calculator from Sharp except its simple design. Sharp’s new EL-N802 12 digit calculator is currently available in white, black, and red. No info on pricing so far. [Akihabara]

Sharp has recently unveiled a new Blu-ray DVR range, with a high-end BD-HDW40 comes with a 1TB hard drive and Blu-ray recorder capability. The new Sharp Blu-ray DVR range includes four models, three of which, the HDW40, HDW35 and HDW32 feature two digital TV tuners, 1080p output, Blu-ray playback and recording with BD-Live, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio and compression to fit up to 30 hours of HD telly per Blu-ray disc. The low end Sharp BD-HDS32 has only a built-in 320GB hard drive. The entire range will be released in Japan this coming March 27th. [Impress]

Sharp’s new AQUOS DH77 LCD TV features full High Definition support and 100Hz technology. Available in 32 inch, 42 inch, 46 inch and 52 inch models, all these HDTVs have a “green eco-button” on the remote control allowing viewers to lower the energy consumption of the TV when in use. The new AQUOS HDTVs also adopt the “Optical Picture Control” technology that automatically adjust the backlight brightness according to lighting in the room.
