
The Sharp BD-HDS63 is the latest entry level Blu-Ray player for the Japanese market. Priced at 75,000 Yen or around $905, the BD-HDS63 comes with a 320GB HDD, 3D Blu-Ray compatible and a digital TV tuner with BS/CS and SKYPerfecTV support. Sharp has finally announced the release date of their Galapagos tablets. Available in 5.5-inch and 10.8-inch models, both tablets support Wi-Fi, a web browser, a microSD port, a modified version of the Google Android OS, several games and a huge library of e-books. The 5.5-inch model has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, while the 10.8-inch model boasts a resolution of 1366 x 800 pixels. GeekStuff4U has started selling the Sharp Brain PW-AC10 for the Japanese market. Priced at 19,990 Yen or around $240, this portable electronic dictionary comes in the shape of a smartphone. Available in three different colors, the gadget features a 2.4-inch LCD screen with a QVGA resolution and a QWERTY keyboard. Sharp Japan today introduced the BD-HP90 3D Blu-ray player, which is touted to be the slimmest of its kind in the world. Measuring at only 35mm thick, the player is not only thin, but it can also be used both in a horizontal and vertical position. The Sharp BD-HP90 comes with a USB port, an HDMI interface, Ethernet and AQUOS Link. Unfortunetely, this Blu-ray player doesn’t support BDXL. Here is the latest ultra slim 3D Blu-ray recorder from Sharp. Measuring at just 35mm thick, the Sharp Aquos BD-AV07 comes equipped with a digital TV tuner and supports BD-RE, BD-R as well as BD XL disks. What’s more, the BD recorder also supports Japanese VOD internet services. Sharp will release the Sharp Aquos BD-AV07 in December for around 85,000 Yen or around $1,047. [Sharp]

Sharp has entered the tablet and e-book reader market by introducing the new Galapagos series in Tokyo, Japan. The first one is the Galapagos “mobile type” that has a 5.5-inch LCD screen (1,024 × 600 resolution) that’s optimized for displaying paperback books. Available in red and black. the gadget comes with a trackball to scroll through pages. Meanwhile, the Galapagos “home type” comes jam packed with a 10.8-inch LCD screen (1,366 × 800) for magazine content formatted across a two-page spread. Sharp today introduced two new 3D network Blu-ray players with full HD 3D 1080p/24 fps video output for home entertainment experiences with outstanding and lifelike image clarity. Known as the Sharp BD-HP90U and BD-HP80U, both players provide you an access to content from a wide variety of sources such as Netflix, VUDU and Pandora from the Internet via Wireless LAN. Additionally, the Sharp BD-HP90U and BD-HP80U also play standard-definition DVDs and CDs, as well as DIVX HD, JPEG and MP3 files. Sharp is ready to launch the new XV-Z17000 3D-ready DLP projector for the mass market. This projector uses a single-chip DLP design to deliver a contrast ratio of up to 30,000:1, a brightness level of up to 1,600 ANSI lumens and an included 3D glasses. Sharp has rolled out their latest digital TV tuner in the form of the AQUOS AN-IP100, or also known as the AQUOS Net Tuner. The device supports digital broadcast and allows you to record on an external USB drive any programs or shows you want. Sharp will introduce two models in the new LE925 Series of 3D-compatible AQUOS Quattron 3D LCD TVs with four-primary-color technology, which is based on its proprietary UV2A technology. The new technology adds Y (yellow) to the three RBG (red, blue, green) primary colors, dramatically improving the ability to faithfully reproduce colors. These LCD TVs also provide an impressive 3D images with screen brightness higher than previous models (LE925 Series).
