
Sharp will release a feature-rich 3D Blu-ray player in November this year. Dubbed as the Sharp BD-HP90S, the slim Blu-ray player is able to play 2D or 3D Blu-ray discs and connects to a Wi-Fi network for accessing BD-Live contents from the web wirelessly. Sharp has rolled out the successor to the famous Sharp Papyrus PW-AT780. Known as the Sharp Papyrus PW-AT790, this new English – Japanese electronic dictionary comes jam packed with a 5.5-inch LCD display, the handwritten kanji input system, an MP3 player and an SD card slot. The Sharp Brain PW-AC10 e-Dictionary has a similar design with the BlackBerry smartphone. Thie electronic dictionary features a QWERTY keyboard and a 2.4-inch QVGA color screen. Available in white, pink and lime, the Sharp Brain PW-AC10 requires a couple of AAA batteries to operate that will last for around 110 hours. Everyone is getting excited over the new 100GB and 128GB Bluray discs that were just recently announced. The only problem is that they will not be compatible with the current Bluray players and recorders that are currently on the market. Since Sharp is putting out the discs, it only makes sense that they will follow up with the machines that can use them. Sharp has proudly introduced the new BDXL Blu-ray disc that are able to hold 100GB(3 layers) to 128GB (4 layers) of storage capacities. However, this Blu-ray disc can only be read by Sharp BD-HDW700 BD recorder/ player at this time. The new Sharp BDXL is currently available in BDXL-R and BDXL-RE models. Sharp will launch their latest LED lamps in the Japanese market, including the new Sharp E17-base compact lamp that achieves brightness at the industry’s highest levels. The DL-JA51N E17-base compact lamp produces a brightness level of 500 Lumens and features a luminous efficiency (96 lm/W) at the industry’s highest levels. The Sharp BD-HDS55 and BD-HDS53 Blu-ray recorders will be available in the Japanese market on May 24th, 2010 onwards. These DLNA compatible devices are designed to be fully compatible with Japanese SKYPerfectTV and other Digital TV programs.
