
Sharp is set to drop their newest Linux-based tablet for the Japanese market. Known as the NetWalker PC-T1, the device boasts a 5-inch WSVGA touchscreen display, an 800MHz Freescale i.MX515 processor, an 8GB of hard drive, a 512MB RAM, Bluetooth, WiFi and runs on Ubuntu Linux OS. The NetWalker PC-T1 will hit Japan next month for around 47,000 Yen (about $500). [Akihabara]

Sharp has successfully developed a 3D touchscreen LCD featuring the industry’s highest brightness that can switch between 2D and 3D modes. The newly developed 3D LCD uses a parallax barrier system to display 3D images, allowing you to view 3D images without the need to wear special glasses. It is ideal for mobile devices such as PMPs, digital cameras, or cell phones because 3D images can be displayed in both portrait and landscape screen orientations. In addition, Sharp has also developed a non-touchscreen 3D LCD. The company will start its mass production in the first half of fiscal 2010. [FarEastGizmos]

Sharp has recently released a couple of Blu-Ray recorders namely the BD-HDW55 and BD-HDW53. The former comes equipped with a 500GB of HDD, while the latter has a smaller 320GB of HDD. Both Blu-ray recorders offer 10x more recording time compared with the usual DR recording method. The Sharp Aquos BD-HDW55 with a 500GB HDD provides up to 63-hour of HD video recording, while the 50GB Blu-ray disc supports only 6-hour of HD video. The Sharp JD-4C1CL is not your ordinary cordless phone because it comes equipped with a digital photo frame, a clock, and a calendar. The gadget has a 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen display. The Sharp JD-4C1CL will be released in April 2010 for 10,000 Yen or approx. $110. [Sharp]

Sharp has finally launched their latest Brain series of e-dictionary. The new Brain PW-AC110 comes equipped with a 4.3-inch color display with a 480 x 272 resolution, a 50 different kinds of dictionaries and some encyclopedias including the Britannica. Sharp has recently dropped two new AQUOS LCD HDTVs for the mass market by launching the 60-inch LC-60E77UN and 65-inch LC-65E77UM. These HDTVs utilize Sharp’s Advanced Super View (ASV) Superlucent Panel for delivering a dramatically bright and crisp picture with reduced haze and reflectivity. On top of that, they also provide 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 4ms response time and 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of connectivity ports, both HDTVs offer four HDMI, two component video, PC input and RS-232. Sharp has showed off their latest LCD HDTV ‘LC-60E88UN’ at CES 2010. This new 60-inch HDTV utilizes Sharp’s X-Gen panel with a 240Hz Fine Motion Advanced technology enabling a superior picture for fast-moving entertainment content like movies and sports. In addition, it’s also compliant with ENERGY STAR Version 4.0 standards and features a range of connectivity ports including four HDMI, component, S-video and RS-232C. Folks in Japan will receive the latest Blu-ray HDD combo from Sharp. The BD-HDS43 is a mid-level Blu-ray player that boasts a single digital and analog TV tuner, a 320GB of HDD and the capacity to record in dual layer Blu-Ray disc. The Sharp BD-HDS43 is priced at around 85000 Yen ($942). [Sharp]

Sharp UK has finally launched the Sharp DKAP7 iPod dock that is currently available in Black/White, Black/Silver, and Black/Red color combinations. The 2.1 channel portable speaker system is compatible with iPods up to 4th generation and has a built-in subwoofer with the HDSS technology. Sharp Japan has announced their LX series of LED TV that is currently available in 40, 42, 52 and 60-inch models. The LED panel provides a full HD resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels, a contrast ratio of 200,0000:1, a 176 degree viewing angle and a white LED backlit which consumes 30% less power. Additional features include a six speaker sound system which delivers 2.1 channel sound, Analog / Digital TV tuner, Ethernet port and three HDMI ports.
