Yamaha has launched two new Skype-certified USB speakerphones in the form of the SoundGadget PSG-01S and Projectphone PJP-25URS. Yutaro Nakano, Director of Sales of Yamaha Sound Network Division, explained that these new USB speakerphones are embedded with audio-processing technologies, such as adaptive echo cancelers and noise-reduction functions, along with arrayed microphones and stereo speakers that will provide high audio quality and stability. The Sony PSP Headset Kit for Skype is now available in the States. The device allows you to chat with your friends over Skype using your PSP. The headset features street-style earphones, an adjustable boom microphone, and a remote control for adjusting sound volume. However, you should make sure that you have version 3.9 of the PSP firmware installed before you will be able to use the Skype headset. The Sony PSP Headset Kit for Skype retails for $30. Skype is to offer unlimited monthly international call plans in a number of countries. Skype users in the United States and Canada get the best deal: unlimited monthly calls for $2.95 per month. People living in thirty-four countries including Australia, China, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom will pay $9.95 for the same service, while European residents will be paying 2.95 euros to 8.95 euros per month depending on the destination of those calls. According to rumor, Skype is working in conjunction with 3 Mobile to release a handset that will have Skype’s famous service for making long-distance and international calls. The handset will support 3G internet service for web browsing. However, you will have to pay a regular monthly service fee for the phone. The handset is slated for release in the UK, Italy, Hong Kong and Australia.
