
HTC has officially unveiled their third Android smartphone in the form of the HTC Hero. This new smartphone is packed with a 3.2-inch fingerprint-resistant touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels, a 5MP camera with autofocus, HTC’s latest Sense UI, an accelerometer sensor, Android 1.5 OS, Google Maps, Google Streetview and various other Google apps / services, GPS, WiFi, a microSDHC card slot, a 3.5mm headset jack and supports GSM as well as HSDPA connectivity. Remember the Toshiba TG01 smartphone that we mentioned back in February? Now it’s finally available in Japan in the form of the T-01A (a rebranded version). In case you’ve forgotten, this 9.9mm thick handset is equipped with a 4.1-inch WVGA resistive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 resolution, a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, HSDPA, GPS, WiFi and runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. The U8230 and C8000 are the latest smartphones from Huawei that were showcased during CommunicAsia 2009 in Singapore. The U8230 (pictured above) is an Android-powered smartphone that offers a wide 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, an on-screen QWERTY keyboard, a trackball, various Google apps and a 1,500 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the C8000 features a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, a 3D menu graphic user interface (GUI), a unique independent display adapter which enables the smooth presentation of video files and DVD-quality, and runs on Windows Mobile operating system. Both smartphones will be commercially available in the second half of 2009 for unannounced price yet. More

Samsung is out with another one of its smartphone namely the Samsung jet, aka S8000 Cubic. This new handset is packed with a 3.1-inch 16M WVGA AMOLED display, a 5MP camera, a 800MHz processor, Samsung’s latest TouchWiz 2.0 UI, GPS, WiFi, DNSe & SRS Sound Effect technology for superior sound quality and DivX and XviD video support for hassel-free video downloading and viewing. What’s more, it also supports the latest smartphone features which include multi-task manager and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Sadly, there no word on pricing and availability yet. Here’s a leaked video of Nokia’s upcoming E72 smartphone, which seems to be the successor of the recently released Nokia E71. This video was accidentally posted on YouTube by Nokia Conversations, a blog officially run by Nokia. However, not much info is given at the moment, but from what we heard, the handset will sport a 5MP camera with flash, a redesigned QWERTY keyboard, a new navigation pad and a 3.5mm headset jack located on the top side. Samsung is set to release their latest high-end landscape slider namely the Samsung Louvre B7610. This new smartphone runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and features a 3.5-inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen, a 5MP camera with image stabilization, an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, an FM radio with RDS, a 1GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, HSDPA connectivity and a 1500 mAh battery. Here’s another smartphone from Acer that has been showcased at Computex 2009 known as the Acer F1. Powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, the F1 sports a 3.8-inch TFT touchscreen display with 480 x 800 resolution, a 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash, an FM radio, a 3.5mm headset jack, GPS, WiFi, a 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, and Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional OS. NTT will sell the handset in Japan as the docomo PRO series T-01A.
