
Century Japan has rolled out the APRI compact photo printer for iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, and Android smartphones. The APRi features a docking station for your iOS devices and a dedicated iOS and Android apps that allow you to print your favorite photos on-the-go. Asustek has officially confirmed that the upcoming ASUS Padfone will be powered by the Google Android 2.4/4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS when the device is released sometime late this year. Alex Sun, chief of Asustek’s personal mobile devices department, explained that the Android Ice Cream Sandwich is the operating system of choice for the upcoming ASUS Padfone because the operating system promises better integration across different platforms. The Android Ice Cream Sandwich is set for release in the fourth quarter and is hoped to patch the fragmentation caused by different releases of Android for smartphones and tablets. CMIT’s TransPhone is a combination of an Android tablet and a smartphone. This combo gadget includes a Bluetooth headset and a slide-in smartphone dock. Nokia will launch the new Nokia E5 messaging phone in Australia, North America, and South America. Announced at the same time with the Nokia C3 and C6, this new Symbian smartphone comes with a QVGA display, a full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, HSDPA/HSUPA, A-GPS, Ovi Maps with free navigation, a 3.5mm headset jack, a 5MP camera with LED flash, a 250MB of internal memory and a 2GB card in the box. The largest US mobile carrier Verizon will release the BlackBerry Bold 9650 via online on June 3rd, 2010, which is tomorrow. The smartphone will be available via Verizon Wireless Communications Stores starting June 10th, 2010. A non-camera version will also be available on June 3th, 2010. The BlackBerry Bold 9650 is Verizon’s first global smartphone to support GlobalAccess Connect, so it can be used for tethering in more than 200 countries worldwide. GlobalAccess Connect plans are available for $65 monthly access for 5GB allowance in the United States and Canada ($0.05/MB overage) and 100MB allowance in select countries ($5.12/MB overage). There is also a $155 monthly access option that offers 5 GB allowance in the United States and Canada and 200MB allowance in select countries, with the same overage rates as the $65 monthly option.

Toshiba has recently introduced two new Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2010. Known as the Toshiba TG02 and K01. Both handsets feature a 4.1-inch WVGA touchscreen and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The Toshiba TG02 is a tablet-shaped cell phone that is actually an upgraded version of the previously released TG01. Measuring 9.9 mm thick, the new model features a capacitive screen and a new 3D user interface. Meanwhile, the K01 is a slider handset with a sliding keyboard. Measuring at 12.9 mm, it will also be Toshiba’s first smartphone with an AMOLED screen. Both cell phones will have a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 32GB.
