Sony Ericsson has announced that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will go on sale on January 18th, 2010 in the UK. The Android-powered Xperia X10 will retail for £529.99 or around $861 (Unlocked). The Acer Liquid A1 is now available in the UK market. The company’s first Android smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor with a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, Quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Triband (900/1900/2100) HSDPA, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and a 5-megapixel camera. FYI, Acer has decided to underclock it to 768MHz in order to prolong the 1,350mAh battery life span. Three new cell phones from Samsung have been unveiled. The first handset is the Samsung i6500 Saturn, which is an Android smartphone featuring a full touchscreen display, a digital camera on the back, and Wi-Fi. Another unannounced Samsung phone spotted today is the Samsung SCH-i899, which is a Windows Mobile handset that has a 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, a MicroSD card support and a 3-megapixel digital camera. Samsung’s Wibro-capable SPH-M8400 smartphone is now available in South Korea via KT. The phone runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 OS and has a 3.7-inch touchscreen Active Matrix OLED (AMOLED) display with a 800 x 480 resolution. Garmin-Asus today annouched that the nuvifone M20 smartphone is now available with Windows Mobile 6.5. This handset will be released later this year in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Turkey Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Czech Republic. Here is good news for those who are living in Erope, because Motorola has rolled out the Motorola Milestone for the European market. This Android 2.0-powered handset provides a trial version of MOTONAV turn-by-turn navigation, which is free for the first 60 days. The phone also features a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Orange will release the Motorola Dext (Cliq) in the UK on October 7th, 2009. The Motorola Dext will be available free on a two year contract with Orange for £35 ($55) per month. The package will include 900 call minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited Internet browsing and access to Orange Maps.
