
The latest software version of Kindle 2 and Kindle DX is now available for download. The new update adds several improvements to these gadgets such as a built-in PDF reader, a manual screen rotation and a longer battery life. Amazon Kindle owner can download the software update automatically when the wireless connection is activated. During the update, you will see screens that show the update progress. The update should take less than 10 minutes and is complete when Kindle displays the Home screen. Do not power off or reset your Kindle until the update is complete. Apple has released iTunes 7.3.2 that “provides bug fixes to improve stability and performance.” The new update can be downloaded through Apple’s Software Update application or from the company’s website. iTunes 7.3.2 is available now for both Mac and PC.

Apple has released the new iTunes 7.3.1 and Quicktime 7.2. According to the company, “iTunes 7.3.1 addresses a minor problem with iTunes 7.3 accessing the iTunes Library.” This new version does not require Quicktime 7.2 (thank heavens), and supports for full screen viewing in QuickTime Player (about time), updates to the H.264 codec, and numerous bug fixes. Both updates are available for free download.
