Sony New Business-minded VAIO BX51 Laptop

Sony has recently introduced another update to its BX Series, which adopts Santa Rosa platform.The BX51 comes jam packed with a 15.4-inch 1280 x 800 “X-black” display, a 2GHz T7250 Core 2 Duo, 2GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, and the usual range of Santa Rosa-related features. You will also be able to get your choice of Windows XP Professional, which comes standard on the VGN-BX51XP model, or Windows Vista Business, which comes pre-installed on the VGN-BX51VN model. Additionally, the Sony VGN-BX51VN also adds built-in Bluetooth, a 1.3MP “Motion Eye” webcam, and a larger 160GB hard drive. These laptops will be available in Europe by the end of the month for around $1,600 to $1,880 depending on the configuration.

New Sony VAIO NR Laptop Coming Soon

It appears that the new Sony VAIO NR laptops will be arriving soon. Headed for Europe first, the VAIO NR will come in two colors. The lower spec machine (VAIO VGN-NR11SS) comes in a silver finish with Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 Processor (1.5GHz, 2MB Cache, 667MHz FSB), while the higher spec machine (VAIO NR11Z/T) comes in a darker charcoal grey/black finish with Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 Processor (2GHz, 2MB Cache, 800MHz FSB). Both notebooks adopt the standard Intel X3100 graphics, and a 200GB hard drives, along with the usual ExpressCard and memory card slots. NotebookReview speculates that these Sony’s new NR series will be released this fall for at least $899 for the base configuration.

Sony VAIO LT HD PC/TV Mini Entertainment Center

The Sony LT HD PC/TV is a mini home theater with an on board Blu-ray drive and a CableCard slot. Its Blu-ray drive is able to record 50GB of HD movie on a single disk, and plays HD movies on its 22-inch widescreen display. If you don’t want to spend $2900 on all that fancy HD stuff, there is an LT standard model that costs $1900, and doesn’t have that Blu-ray drive on board.

Sony SZ Laptops Released

Sony has updated its VAIO SZ notebook series by introducing the SZ6 models with Intel “Santa Rosa” laptop platform, hybrid graphics solutions, up to 200GB hybrid HDDs, and 13.3-inch LED backlight displays. The Sony VAIO SZ6 notebooks for the U.S. market come with Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, T7700, or T7250 processors. These laptops ship with 160GB hybrid hard drives (H-HDD) featuring 256MB of onboard Flash memory and 5400rpm rotational speed, or with the standard 120GB, 160GB or 200GB HDDs, depending on model. In addition, the SZ6s also feature built-in DVD burners. The SZ6 models are priced from $2,049.99 to $2,699.99.

Sony VGP-D24WD1 LCD Screen For Vaio Desktop Users

Sony’s new VGP-D24WD1 24-inch LCD display is primarily targeted towards Vaio Type R desktop users. The LCD screen comes with 1920 x 1200 resolution, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 6ms response time, 92% NTSC ratio, and 178/178 viewing angle. Sony’s new 24-inch LCD display will be available soon in Japan for around $1,063.

Sony VAIO TZ Notebook Is Available In The U.S.

The Sony VAIO TZ 2.65-pound ultra portable notebook is now available in the States. The new Vaio laptop features a 11.1-inch screen, up to 7.5 hours of battery life, and Intel’s ultra-low voltage processor. Measuring less than 1-inch thin, the laptop has carbon-fiber casing in a classic black, premium carbon, champagne gold, and hand-painted Bordeaux variants, with the keyboard’s keys slightly raised above bezel layer. The standard VAIO TZ notebook will start at about $2,200, while the model with solid state drive will go for around $3,200. Both versions will be available in August this year.

Here is the new Sony VAIO laptop with a Blu-ray drive. Dubbed as the Sony VAIO VGN-FZ70B, the laptop is powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 processor, 1GB memory, 160GB hard drive, and Windows Vista operating system. The VGN-FZ70B is based on the Mobile Intel PM965 Express chip set, and can take in a maximum 2GB of DDR2 memory. In addition, the laptop features NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT GPU, three USB 2.0 ports, S-Video output, a 56kbps modem and integrated Bluetooth. The Sony VAIO VGN-FZ70B retails for approximately $2,000.

The system is powered by Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor with 8192KB shared L2 cache, 2GB RAM, 1TB (2x 500GB 7200rpm) hard drive with RAID 0, Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS graphics card with 527MB memory, Blu-ray disc, dual layer DVD burner, and Windows Vista. New Sony VAIO Laptop Line Will Be Released in July

According to NotebookReview, Sony will release 15.4-inch, 13.3-inch and 11.1-inch widescreen VAIO FZ, VAIO SZ5 and VAIO TZ series in July this year. The widescreen 14-inch VAIO CR laptop and 13.3-inch widescreen VAIO CZ are also rumored to come out at the same time. The VAIO FZ series will feature Intel’s next generation “Santa Rosa” platform and the new Core 2 Duo “Merom” processors, a 2GB of RAM, and up to 200GB hard drive. Sony VAIO SZ5 series will feature current Core 2 Duos, 2GB of RAM and up to 200GB HDD, while the ultra-portable Sony VAIO TZ laptops will be powered by Core 2 Duo ultra-low voltage CPUs. These notebooks will have an integrated webcam.
