
Sony has announced the availability of the new VPL-VW85 projector that adopts Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, the Progressive Silicon X-tal Reflective Display, the Motionflow120Hz with black frame insertion technology and the 24p True Cinema technology. The projector provides a 120,000:1 contrast ratio, an 800 ANSI lumens brightness, and two HDMI ports. Sony will release the VPL-VW85 for around $8,000 in October 2009. [Press Release]

Good news for those who are living in Japan. Sony has announced its MDR-DS7100 7.1 channel wireless headphones that feature a 50mm driver unit. These headphones are compatible with Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DTS and DTS-ES. The Sony MDR-DS7100 comes with a battery that provides up to 13-hours of operating time, which is enough for daily use in the home or office. The Sony DRC-BT30P Bluetooth handsfree will allow you to enjoy music without being physically connected to the cell phone. Sony have officially announced their new BRAVIA HDTVs, the ZX5 series, complete with high-end features including a 240Hz “Flow Motion”, an integrated wireless streaming and an edge-mounted LED backlighting. Measuring at just 16.6mm (52-inch) or 15.8mm (46-inch) thick, the BRAVIA ZX5 also has four HDMI ports, a USB, both ethernet and a telephone port (for the integrated modem), an optical digital out, PC and S-Video, and two 10W speakers. Weighing at only 221grams, the Sony XDV-S700 Bravia 1Seg portable TV boasts a 5-inch widescreen display with a WQVGA resolution and a 2GB of Internal memory allowing you to record up to 15-hours of video. The gadget also features a new Stamina Mode allowing you to watch continuously 6.5-hours of TV program live with your 1Seg TV Tuner or 8-hours of continuous video playback or up to 27-hours of continuous FM Stereo radio. Sony will release two new alpha DSLR cameras that adopt a new generation of Exmor CMOS sensors and BIONZ image processors. The A550 (14.2MP) and A500 (12.3MP) digital SLR cameras come jam packed with a 3-inch LCD screen that tilts 90 degrees up or down and two Live View functions. The A500 has a 230,000 pixel Clear Photo display, while the A550 features a 921,000 pixel Xtra Fine display. The Sony A550 and A500 will retail for $950 and $750, respectively. Sony has launched their new universal remote controls that come in a variety of colors. Dubbed as the Sony RM-PZ3SD, these waterproof remotes feature big buttons and would be compatible with majority of TV manufacturers. Sony today released the latest version of 32GB Memory Stick PRO Duo that allows Handycam owners to record video in FH mode (1920 x 1080 Full HD) for 225 minutes (3 hours 45 minutes) using a single card. Here is good news for all Sony PlayStation fans. The Sony PlayStation 3 Slim has been officially unveiled in the US. The new model is actually a cost-reduced version of the current version.
