
Sony will launch a new MP3 player from its Walkman W series in Japan on June 13th, 2009. Weighing at only 35grams, the Walkman W202 features a jog wheel and a new “Zappin” song-browsing technology. The gadget will be available in black, pink, lime green and white. Its battery provides up to 12 hours of operation time. People in Japan can buy this player for 10,000 Yen ($104). Sony will release its VAIO VGN-P50 ultra-compact entry-level laptop in the Japanese market on June 6th, 2009. This Windows XP-powered laptop measures 245mm x 120mm x 19.8mm and weighing at 626grams. It has an 8-inch ultra wide LCD screen with a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, a 1GB RAM, a 80GB HDD, and Intel’s US15W chipset. Other features include a couple of USB 2.0 slots, IEEE 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, multi-card reader and four hours of battery life. Sony just introduced two new Cyber-shot cameras in Europe. The 10.1MP Cybershot W180 and 12.1MP Cybershot W190 feature Sony’s smile shutter technology, 3x zoom stabilized with SteadyShot, 2.7-inch LCD, ISO 3200 sensitivity, and 7 automatic scene selection modes. The DVP-FX930 is Sony’s latest portable DVD player that comes with a 9-inch LCD with a 800×480 resolution. Its battery provides up to 6-hours of DVD playback time. The player also supports MP3 or JPEG files stored on a USB thumb drive. The Sony DVP-FX930 will be released next month in Japan for around 35000 Yen ($361). [Akihabara]

If you’re looking for an ultra-light full HD handycam, be sure to check out Sony’s latest handycam ‘HDR-TG5V’ that weighs only 220g. This ultra-light camcorder is equipped with a 2.7-inch wide LCD touch panel, a professional-quality Carl Zeiss Vaio-Tessar lens, a 10X optical zoom, a BIONZ Image Processor, a 16GB of flash memory, a Memory Stick PRO Duo card slot, a built-in GPS and NAVTEQ digital maps and a built-in flash. You’ll be able to record high-definition video at 1920 x 1080 resolution and capture still images at 4-megapixeel resolution. If you are a fan of Sony’s DSLRs, then you will be glad to hear that Sony has introduced three new Alpha DSLRs. The A380, A330 and A230 support MS and SD/SDHC cards, tilt LCD, and Sony’s new Quick AF Live View. The A380 features 14.2MP sensor, meanwhile the A230 and A330 have only a 10.2MP sensor. Sony has added a new HDTV to its BRAVIA television range with the introduction of Z5500 LCD HDTV, which incorporates the Motionflow 200Hz and Image Blur Reduction technology. The Z5500 series is available in 40-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch models, all models features Sony’s BRAVIA engine 3 and comes with the AppliCast that lets you access an exciting range of online services without having to switch on your PC. The Z5500 is also DLNA certified, allowing it to be seamlessly networked via the built-in Ethernet port with other DLNA enabled devices within the home. [Product Page via ItechNews]

Sony is out with another portable speaker in the form of the SRS-TD60. Measuring 206 x 77 x 63 mm and weighing just 506 grams, this speaker is capable of delivering an output of 5 watts and has a battery life for 30 hours of playback. Sony today introduced two new members of its portable projectors. Both the VPL-EX7 and VPL-EX70 use short focal lens that allow them to throw a 60-inch screen at 1,024 x 768 resolution from a distance of 1.8meter. The former comes with a 500:1 contrast ratio and 2,000 lumens brightness. Meanwhile, the latter features only a contrast ratio of 900:1 and a brightness of 2,600 lumens. Sony today released its new Walkman PMP with web browsing capabilities in Japan. Dubbed as the Walkman NW-X1000, the PMP is currently available in 16GB or 32GB of storage space and features a 3.0 inch WQGA OLED display, FM tuner, DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine), and a noise cancellation system. The player sports Wi-Fi and web browser for YouTube and podcasts. The 16GB and 32GB model are priced at $299 and $399, respectively. Video after the jump. More
