The new TG5V (or TG7 in Europe) is a successor to the Sony Handycam TG1. Weighing at 230 grams and measuring 30mm x 117mm x 62mm, the camcorder is now lighter and smaller than its predecessor. The video camera offers 16GB of Internal memory (or 6hours of video recoding), a 30mm wide angle, a new BIONZ and Exemor image processor for low light recording, and new coating for the Camera body to prevent scratches. An integrated GPS antenna and NAVTEQ maps can be used to automatically geo-tag videos or images to keep a record of the exact shooting location. The BDZ-A750 (320GB) and the BDZ-A950 (500GB) are Sony’s latest Blu-ray burner player and HDD video recorder combos. These recorders are able to stream and download videos from either Tsutaya TV and acTVila VOD service in Japan and forward these contents directly to a Sony PSP or a Sony compatible DAP via USB port. These players are also DLNA compatible. No word on pricing so far. [Akihabara]

The latest Sony MP3 player features a simplified interface with keys that are clearly laid out and raised. There is a high contrast screen, with light text on a dark background, making it easy to read. Available in 4GB to 8 GB of storage space, the gadget also features FM radio. Good news for those who are living in Japan. Sony has decided to launch a new GPS navigator that comes with a 3.5 inch QVGA touchscreen display with an aspect ratio of 4:3. Sony today released a new home theater system HT-CT500 which consists of a sound bar and a subwoofer. Sony’s HT-CT500 provides 3.1 channels, 400 watts (RMS) of power, three HD 1080p HDMI inputs, two component inputs, and other audio inputs. This home theater system also features Digital Media Port (DMP) connections to link effectively with external audio sources to the system. Other features include an icon-based menu and Faroudja’ DCDi Cinema chip that upscales all video near high definition quality and up-convert analog audio / video signals to HDMI. Sony offers two new lightweight photo printers that will make it easy for those who want to print photos anywhere and anytime. The $120 DPP-FP67 and $200 DPP-FP97 are able to create 4 x 6 prints in 45 and 67 seconds, respectively. Both printers support a variety of cards including SD, SDHC, MMC, xD and Memory Stick. The printer can also be connected to any of Sony’s digital S-Frame models via a USB connection. You can enjoy an HD slideshow with the Sony DPP-FP97 photo printer since it has an HDMI-out port (the cable itself is not included). The Sony FP97 and FP67 will be released in May. [dcviews]

Sony’s new CMT-Z100iR has been unveiled. This high-end stylish iPod/iPhone/iTouch micro component system boasts audio in, CD playback capability, and a USB port so you can connect your USB-equipped portable music player for additional playback/recording options. Other features include a USB port, two 20W speakers, touch panel controls, a 3.5mm audio-in jack, bass/treble adjustments, an integrated AM/FM radio and a remote control. Sony releases two new 5.1-channel Blu-ray HTIB systems, the BDV-E300 and BDV-E500W. Both home theater systems support BD-Live-capable (Profile 2.0) Blu-ray player, BRAVIA Sync technology, and Sony’s Digital Media Port to easily control Apple’s iPod and Sony’s Walkman line. The Sony BDV-E500W features an integrated S-AIR wireless audio capabilities that allows you to place your rear speakers in the room wirelessly. Sony offers two new Profile 2.0 Blu-ray players in the form of the BDP-S360 and BDP-S560. The Sony BDP-S560 features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, fully DLNA-ready, upscales your DVD collection, bit-streams audio via HDMI, decodes Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD Master Audio and is compatible with external media loaded up on a USB drive.
