Sony XDP-PK1000 Digital Link Sound System

The Sony XDP-PK1000 Digital Link Sound System is a total audio system comprised of five pieces such as a Cradle for iPod touch or iPhone, a remote controller, a Digital Sound Processor Master Unit, a 12-inch box subwoofer, and a Class D Mono Block Amplifier. The internal DSP processing creates a balanced front stage and improves sound quality on a pre-installed original car audio system. It enhances iPod touch or iPhone playback by digitally connecting and fully processing in the digital domain for optimized sound performance. The Sony XDP-PK1000 also enables adjustment of time alignment, equalization and crossover points to deliver an improved audio experience. Sony Unveils Three Upcoming Sound Systems With 3D Audio Capability

Sony today introduced three upcoming sound systems with 3D audio capability that consist of the HT-CT150 and HT-CT350 3.1-channel sound bars and the 5.1-channel HT-SF470 surround sound system. All of these sound systems feature a 3D pass-through with an HDMI repeater that includes three inputs and one output along with another HDMI pass-through connection. The Sony HT-CT350 and HT-CT150 sound bars will be launched in May 2010 for approx. $400 and $300, respectively. Niro Launches Spherical Sound System

Niro is using geometry to introduce their new 5.1 ch spherical surround system. The audio system features a subwoofer, base speaker, top speaker and built-in amplifier. The base speaker offers 3 drivers of 90mm, an impedance of 9Ω, and an output power of 30Wx3, while the top speaker features 2 drivers of 60mm an impedance of 8Ω, and an output power of 30Wx2. Lastly, the subwoofer features a driver of 200 mm, an impedance of 6Ω and an output power of 50W. As far as the amplifier goes, it’s compatible with Format Dolby Digital, DTS, AAC, and Dolby Pro Logic. With all these fancy features, no wonder Niro will be selling it for 600€. [Akihabara]
