
Kenwood has recently introduced the Hibachi speakers, that are still in the concept stage. These wireless speakers work on the 2.4 Ghz band along with the SLG-7 transmitter which uses incompressible linear PCM. The speakers also illuminate based on the sound effects. Still remember the Sony Ericsson MS500 Bluetooth Speaker that we mentioned before? It seems that Sony Ericsson will release this wireless speaker in Canada very soon. Available in black or orange, the Bluetooth speaker is specially designed to be used outdoors. You just need to connect your mobile phone via Bluetooth (10 meter distance max) and then enjoy the music. The speaker needs two AA batteries that last for approximately 5 hours. Onkyo today launched its brand new high-end speaker set for PC that adopts Onkyo’s VL Digital Technology to produce high-quality sound. Dubbed as the Onkyo GX-500HD, this speaker set provides 2 x 40 Watts and works on a 50Hz to 100kHz. The Onkyo GX-500HD will be released in Japan next week for 49800 Yen or around €380. [Akihabara]

Designed by Erick Sakal, the Alien Sound System is actually a multifunctional dock-enabled system with modern wireless capabilities. The speaker consists of a subwoofer that is integrated into the center with two side tweeters and a prime speaker on top. The CX5 and CX8 monitor speakers from M-Audio feature 5 inch and 8 inch drivers, respectively. The CX5 retails for $399 meanwhile the CX8 is going for $499. Both speakers adopt 5.1 surround sound system from Logitech. [MixOnline]

Buffalo and Kokuyo has joined to release the Dice Speaker series for iPod. The speaker is lightweight and small so you can bring it wherever you go. [Akihabara]

The latest gadget from Sony Ericsson comes in the form of a portable speaker. Known as the MS500, the device is available in orange and black or chic white and pink color combination. The MS500 has a durable splash proof shell and a handy strap which can be hooked to a bag or hung from the wrist. The speaker also adopts Bluetooth technology that functions as a remote control to change tracks and control the volume. Bird Electron releases a new set of speaker, which is build around Japanese Takotsubo, or “Octopus Trap”. It is used by fishermen in order to catch Octopus. The Takotsubo has a 50mm diameter speaker. No info on pricing or availability so far. [Akihabara]
