Adata today unveiled its new solid state drive, the Adata S511. Based on the latest SATA 6Gb/s interface, the drive utilizes the new generation SandForce SF-2200 series chip that provides 550/520MB read and write speeds respectively, with 4K random write speeds as high as 60,000 IOPS in real world testing. Seagate Pulsar XT.2 And Pulsar.2 SSDs For Enterprises

Seagate today introduced two new members from the Pulsar line of SSDs in the form of the Pulsar XT.2 and Pulsar.2. Aimed at enterprises, the MLC NAND-equipped Pulsar.2 is capable of 6Gbps speeds over SATA, while the 2.5-inch XT.2 uses SLC memory and a 6Gbps SAS connection. The Patriot Wildfire SSD drive is based on the newest SandForce SF-2200 processor. According to SandForce, this processor enables the drive to provide 500MB/s sequential read and write speeds backed by a SATA 6.0Gb/s interface. The SandForce SF-2200 processor also offers AES-256 and 128 data encryption, integrated enhanced DuraClass Technology, ECC Recovery and Native Command Queuing (up to 32 commands). The Patriot Wildfire SSD series also feature a standard 2.5-inch form factor for compatibility with notebooks and desktops. Each purchase comes equipped with a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch mounting bracket for compatibility with standard hard drive mounting. Toshiba today unveiled the Blade X-gale series SSD storage, which are used in the new MacBook Air. The company will release these memory modules, which enable MacBook Air customers to upgrade their MacBook Air in the future. The OCZ Enyo is an external USB 3.0 SSD-based drive that should hit retail sometime in mid May 2010. Available in 64, 128 and 256GB of storage capacities, the device uses MLC NAND flash memory, 64MB of on board cache and USB 3.0 Micro B connector interface. The Enyo boasts a maximum transfer speed of up to 260MB/s for read and up to 200MB/s for write with sustained speeds of up to 150MB/s for 128GB and 256GB versions. Buffalo is back with a new USB flash drive that uses the solid state drive technology. Measuring 23mm x 10mm x 98mm and weighing 17grams, the new Buffalo SHD-LVS-BK USB SSD comes with a G4GB of storage space and a USB 2.0 specification. The device features a physical switch that can prevent old files from being deleted and new files from being written onto the drive. In addition, the drive also boasts TurboPC and TurboCopy functions that reportedly boost transfer rates. PureSilicon has upgraded its Renegade R2 SSD series by releasing a new 256GB version. The drive boasts 255MB/sec sequential read rates and 180MB/sec sequential write rates and supports MIL-STD-810F standards allowing the drive to tolerate extreme temperatures, shock, and vibration. This rugged 256GB SSD drive will start shipping in Q1 2010 alongside the encrypted versions.
