
ADATA has unveiled its new entry-level solid state drive namely the Adata S396. The solid state drive features a 30GB of storage space and utilizes the SATA 3Gb/sec interface. The device runs 44K IOPS of 4KB random write and supports 280/250 MB/s of sequential read and write speeds. The Adata S396 30GB SSD is backed by 3-year product warranty. Super Talent has launched the TeraNova solid state drive. Designed for professionals and enthusiasts, the 2.5-inch drive features the latest SATA3 interface, a SandForce 2200 processor and an optimized firmware. Available in 60GB, 120GB, 240GB and 480GB of storage capacities, the Super Talent TeraNova provides up to 500MB/s transfer rate for both read and write. [PCLaunches]

OCZ has launched the Talos 2 SSD series. Designed for enterprise systems, the storage device has capacities of up to 1TB and supports the Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 6.0Gbps interface. The OCZ Talos 2 is composed of either MLC (multi-level cell), eMLC (enterprise MLC) or SLC (single-level cell) NAND Flash memory chips. The solid state drive offers random transactional performance at up to 70,000 4K IOPS and features improved mixed workload (75% read; 25% write) performance with up to 42,000 8K IOPS. [techPowerUp]

Samsung will launch the 830 Series SSD in the US market later this month. The storage device will be bundled with a free copy of Batman: Arkham City (PC version). In case you didn’t know, the Samsung 830 Series SSD is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB models. It has a sequential writing speed of 400MB/s and reading speed of 520MB/s. OCZ Technology has unveiled the Octane SATA 3.0 and Octane-S2 SATA 2.0 SSD series. The Octane SATA 3.0 provides read speeds of 560MB/s and write speeds of 400MB/s, while the Octane-S2 SATA 2.0 features read speeds of 275MB/s and write speeds of 265MB/s. Both SSDs use the Indilinx Everest platform to deliver up to 45,000 IOPS. Available in a 256GB or a 512GB model, the new storage device is claimed to be 2.5 times faster than its predecessor and supports 6Gb/s SATA interface. ADATA has started selling the XM13 mSATA solid sate drive, which is based on the first generation SandForce SF-1200 controller. Designed for tablet, ultra-thin notebooks and other highly portable devices, the XM13 mSATA SSD is equipped with a 25nm (MLC) NAND Flash and offers 3Gb/sec speed and IOPS (random access) speeds up to 12,500. It is capable of reaching sequential transfer rates of up to 250MB/s read and 170MB/s write. The 30GB model is priced at $80, while the 60GB version retails for $135. [Softpedia]

OCZ today introduced the new Synapse Cache SSD Series. Available in 64GB and 128GB models, these 2.5-inch SATA III SSDs are powered by NVELO’s DataPlex caching software that will increase the overall performance of the computer by using an SSD as a cache for the existing HDD. The 64GB model offers up to 550/490Mbps read/write speeds and 75,000 IOPS, while the 128GB model delivers 550/510MBps and 80,000 IOPS performance. Too bad, there is no info on pricing at this time. Intel Corporation today introduced its latest SATA solid-state drive (SSD), the Intel SSD 710 series. Designed for the data center, the storage device uses compute-quality Intel 25-nanomenter (nm) MLC NAND flash memory with Intel High Endurance Technology (HET) to deliver high endurance, performance and reliability. The Intel SSD 710 series offers a 270MB/s sequential read and a 170MB/s sequential write. Kingston is back with its latest product in the form of the SSDNow KC100. This business class SSD is designed to work with the SATA 6Gb/s port. Using the SandForce controller, the 2.5-inch SSD offers an MTBF of 1 million hours and an automatic data encryption using two embedded encryption engines that run on both AES-128 and AES-256.
