
A-Data has announced a new line up of 2.5-inch solid state drives, the SX95. Available in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, these XPG-branded drives deliver maximum read/write speeds of 230/180 MB/s (128GB and 256GB models) or 210/140 MB/s (32GB and 64GB models). The SX95 SSDs also feature MLC (multi-level cell) NAND flash memory chips, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a MTBF of 1 million hours and an “onboard DRAM cache buffer.” Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing and release date yet. Memorysolution has come out with a new SSD in the form of the 64GB Maxflash. This new SSD provides a reading speed up to 160MB/s and a writing speed up to 70MB/s. It also features a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, MLC NAND flash memory chips, a JMicron controller and a mini USB connector. Lexar Media today announced new line of Crucial M225 SSDs. Available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, these drives support an impressive 250MB/sec read speed and a 200MB/sec write speed. Patriot Memory has announced a new line-up of solid state drives, the Torqx M28 SSDs. Available in 128GB and 256GB storage capacities, these 2.5-inch drives boast a reading speed up to 220MB/s and a writing speed up to 200MB/s. The M28 drives also feature a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a 128MB of cache memory and a MTBF of over 1 million hours. The Torqx M28 SSDs will start shipping soon with a 10-year warranty. [TCMagazine]

OCZ has updated its 2.5-inch Vertex SSD series by releasing the Vertex Turbo SSD that provides higher the clock speed for both the host controller managing data and the 64MB of cache. OCZ estimates that the new SSD will offer peak read speeds of up to 270MB per second (up from 250MB) and peak write speeds of 210MB per second (up from 160MB). Green-House Japan has recently rolled out their new line-up of SSDs in the form of the the 1.8-inch PATA and 2.5-inch PATA series. These SSD drives are currently available in 16GB to 128GB storage capacities. No info on pricing so far. [Green-House]

Transcend has released a new SSD25D Solid State Drive that provides up 64MB of integrated DRAM cache and comes in 60GB and 120GB storage space. The drive boasts transfer speeds of up to 230MB/s read and 180MB/s write and around 1ms latency. The SSD25D also features an industry-standard 3.0Gb/s SATA II interface and 2.5-inch form factor to allow easy and straightforward user installation in most notebooks and desktop computers, just like a conventional hard drive. Toshiba’s 12.1-inch Dynabook SS RX2/WAJ is the first laptop in the world that features a 512GB SSD. Measuring only 19.5 – 25.5mm thick and weighing at 1.1-kg(less than 2.5-pounds), the laptop comes equipped with a Core 2 Duo SU9400 CPU, and a battery that lasts up to 12-hours of operating time. Clickfree just rolled out its new external SSD which comes in the size of a credit card. You can buy the Clickfree Traveler SSD in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities, which will retail for $80, $150 and $250, respectively. Clickfree has also released the DVD Transformer, which plugs in like a standard USB drive, but automatically scans your computer for personal files and other important data then backs it up on CD or DVD. If you are in Japan and have at least 492800Yen($5,102) in your pocket, then you can buy the 1TB OCZ Z-Drive PCI-Express SSD that will be released in Akihabara next week. Available in 250GB, 500GB, and ITB of storage space, these SSD drives provide different reading and writing speeds. The 500GB model features a reading speed of 510MB/sec and a writing speed of 480MB/sec, meanwhile the 1TB model comes with reading speed of 500MB/sec and writing speed of 470MB/sec. [Akihabara]
