
Buffalo has just added a new storage capacity ’256GB’ to its IDE-based SHD-NHPU2 SSD line-up. Just like the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models, the 256GB model also comes with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a USB 2.0 interface, an IDE interface, a 64MB of cache and is able to deliver transfer speeds of up to 101MB/s. Originally slated for an August release, Kingston’s upcoming USB 3.0 external SSD ‘HyperX’ has just been been delayed until September. To remind you, this pocket-sized SSD features a USB 3.0 interface and promises to provide read and write speeds of up to 195MB/s and 160MB/s respectively.
