Based on Serial ATA 6Gb/second interface, the updated version of the drive adopts Seagate’s Adaptive Memory and FAST Factor technologies. The Adaptive Memory technology is a self-learning algorithm that delivers SSD-like response from your most frequently used applications and files, while the FAST Factor technology blends the strengths of SSDs and hard disk drives for quicker boot up and faster access to applications. Plextor is ready to launch the M3S 2.5-inch SSD series. Available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB of storage capacities, the Plextor M3S offers a sequential read/write speeds of up to 525/445MBps and a random read/write speeds of up to 70,000/65,000 IOPS. Other specs include Marvell’s server-grade controller, the latest SATA 6Gb/s (SATA III) interface and Toshiba’s 24nm NAND flash. Samsung 830 Series SSD Bundled With Batman: Arkham City Video Game

Samsung will launch the 830 Series SSD in the US market later this month. The storage device will be bundled with a free copy of Batman: Arkham City (PC version). In case you didn’t know, the Samsung 830 Series SSD is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB models. It has a sequential writing speed of 400MB/s and reading speed of 520MB/s. Tascam and SaneWave have joined to create the Tascam X-48MKII, which is claimed to be the world’s first standalone 48-track Hybrid Hard Disk Workstation. The device features a 1TB internal hard disk drive, a dual-core Intel ATOM processor, an HDTV tri-level sync and Graphical User Interface(GUI) for recording, mixing, editing and metering. ADATA is back with three new USB 3.0 flash drives namely the N005 Pro, S102 Pro and C103. Designed for business professionals, the ADATA N005 Pro is a higher-end model that provides a fast 180MB/sec read speed and a 90MB/sec write speed. It is available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of storage capacities. The ADATA S102 Pro is a mid-range version that offers a 100MB/sec read speed and a 50MB/sec write speed. OCZ Technology has unveiled the Octane SATA 3.0 and Octane-S2 SATA 2.0 SSD series. The Octane SATA 3.0 provides read speeds of 560MB/s and write speeds of 400MB/s, while the Octane-S2 SATA 2.0 features read speeds of 275MB/s and write speeds of 265MB/s. Both SSDs use the Indilinx Everest platform to deliver up to 45,000 IOPS. Available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB of storage capacities, these storage devices have a dual-core controller chip and up to 512MB cache. No word on pricing at this time. [Anand Tech]
