OCZ Synapse Cache 2.5-inch SSD Series

OCZ today introduced the new Synapse Cache SSD Series. Available in 64GB and 128GB models, these 2.5-inch SATA III SSDs are powered by NVELO’s DataPlex caching software that will increase the overall performance of the computer by using an SSD as a cache for the existing HDD. The 64GB model offers up to 550/490Mbps read/write speeds and 75,000 IOPS, while the 128GB model delivers 550/510MBps and 80,000 IOPS performance. Too bad, there is no info on pricing at this time. LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt Series

LaCie today announced that the Little Big Disk Thunderbolt series is currently available via Apple Store. What makes this storage device special is that it adopts the Thunderbolt technology that supports up to 10Gb/s speeds. Designed by Neil Poulton, the LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt series delivers transfer rates of up to 480MB/s for SSD models and up to 190MB/s for 5400rpm hard disk models. You can also connect multiple Little Big Disks together to increase overall transfer rates of up to 782MB/s. The 1TB model retails for $399.95, while the 2TB model is priced at $499.95. Intel Releases New SATA Solid-State Drive For The Data Center

Intel Corporation today introduced its latest SATA solid-state drive (SSD), the Intel SSD 710 series. Designed for the data center, the storage device uses compute-quality Intel 25-nanomenter (nm) MLC NAND flash memory with Intel High Endurance Technology (HET) to deliver high endurance, performance and reliability. The Intel SSD 710 series offers a 270MB/s sequential read and a 170MB/s sequential write. Available in 100GB, 200GB, or 300GB of storage capacity, the Intel SSD 710 is priced at $649, $1,289, and $1,929, respectively. Watch the video after the jump. Read more

Kingston Releases SSDNow KC100 Business Class SSD

Kingston is back with its latest product in the form of the SSDNow KC100. This business class SSD is designed to work with the SATA 6Gb/s port. Using the SandForce controller, the 2.5-inch SSD offers an MTBF of 1 million hours and an automatic data encryption using two embedded encryption engines that run on both AES-128 and AES-256. Apacer is ready to launch the world’s lightest USB 3.0 flash drive, the AH350. Weighing at only 8 grams, the device provides a maximum transfer speed of up to 60MB/s. The Hitachi G-RAID external hard disk drive is designed specifically for Mac users. Available in storage capacities up to 6TB, the G-RAID supports high-speed interfaces such as 3Gbit eSATA, FireWire 800 (FireWire 400 via cable) and USB 2.0 ports. When connected via eSATA, this storage device provides data transfers rates of up to 200MB/second. The 4TB and 6TB models are not supported by Windows XP or older 32-bit operating systems which limit maximum volume size to 2TB.
