
Gamestop has recently confirmed that the company will launch its own gaming tablet, complete with an app store dedicated to games titles. According to Gamestop president Tony Bartel, the company is still deciding between developing its own slate or using an existing design from an OEM, depending on the strength of the gaming experience and the flexibility in using a Bluetooth-connected controller. Acer America today announced that the Iconia Tab A500 is now available for pre-order in the United States via Best Buy. As a reminder, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is the company’s first 10.1-inch Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet that comes with a 10.1-inch multitouch screen, a 1GHz nVidia Tegra 250 dual-core processor and an integrated GeForce GPU that lets customers enjoy HD gaming, 1080p video and faster browsing, as well as running multiple applications and digital media playback at the same time. Ainol has unveiled more details on their new Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet. The upcoming tablet will feature an IPS capacitive touchscreen display, a Cortex A-9 processor, a front-facing camera for video chat, HDMI, a microSD card slot for storage expansion and a kick stand. Apple’s iPad 2 is now available in the UK. The iPad 2 in the UK retails for £399 ($642) for the 16GB wiFi model, £479 ($771) for the 32GB WiFi model and £559 ($900) for the 64GB model. Word has it that the WiFi-only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be released on April 4th, 2011. Samsung has updated its Facebook fan page with a new teaser image of the upcoming Galaxy Tab 8.9. The picture shows that the 8.9-inch tablet will feature a 3.5mm audio jack and a rough surface on its back, which should give the device a better gripping surface. Fujitsu has unveiled the pricing and availability info of the Stylistic Q550 Windows 7 tablet. Designed for business and government customers, the Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 will be released in April 2011 for 90,000 Yen or around $1,098.
