TASCAM has recently released the DR-40 4-track portable recorder, which is able to record high-quality WAV or MP3 files to an SD or SDHC flash memory card. The gadget features two adjustable condenser microphones, a couple of Neutrik combo inputs that accept XLR and 1/4-inch connections, built-in mic preamps, a built-in speaker, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a high-speed USB 2.0 port for backup purpose. Tascam today rolled out the first solar-powered tuner in the world. Known as the Tascam TC-1S, the guitar tuner comes equipped with a rugged silicon wrap, a USB port, a carrying clip, an integrated microphone and a quarter-inch input for guitar and bass tuning.
