Tascam has released the iM2 stereo microphone for iOS devices. The gadget turns the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch into a high-quality stereo recorder. The Tascam iM2 features a pair of condenser microphones that are adjustable over 180 degrees for optimal sound placement. The iM2 features a microphone preamp and an analog-to-digital converter that enables the device to handle up to 125dB SPL sounds for the loudest concerts and instruments. Tascam and SaneWave have joined to create the Tascam X-48MKII, which is claimed to be the world’s first standalone 48-track Hybrid Hard Disk Workstation. The device features a 1TB internal hard disk drive, a dual-core Intel ATOM processor, an HDTV tri-level sync and Graphical User Interface(GUI) for recording, mixing, editing and metering. The Tascam X-48MKII also supports eSATA and USB interfaces, 48-hour continuous recording @44.1kHz and 20-hour continuous recording @96kHz. [Tascam]
TASCAM has recently released the DR-40 4-track portable recorder, which is able to record high-quality WAV or MP3 files to an SD or SDHC flash memory card. The gadget features two adjustable condenser microphones, a couple of Neutrik combo inputs that accept XLR and 1/4-inch connections, built-in mic preamps, a built-in speaker, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a high-speed USB 2.0 port for backup purpose. TASCAM has unveiled the iXZ mic/instrument input, which is designed to turn your iPod, iPhone, or iPod touch into a personal recording studio. Measuring 106mm x 40mm x 45mm and weighing 87 grams, the device provides a switchable mic/line input, a 1/8-inch headphone output, an XLR mic input, and a high-impedance guitar input. The multi-format Tascam BD-R2000 recorder is able to capture both standard and HD videos to hard drive, SD card, DVD or Blu-ray media – with authoring and editing features to assemble the perfect disc. The device supports video input from DV/HDV cameras (4-pin FireWire) and S-Video, or video files stored to USB 2.0 or SD/SDHC card. Tascam today rolled out the first solar-powered tuner in the world. Known as the Tascam TC-1S, the guitar tuner comes equipped with a rugged silicon wrap, a USB port, a carrying clip, an integrated microphone and a quarter-inch input for guitar and bass tuning. Measuring 3.77-inch x 0.71-inch x 1.57-inch, the Tascam TC-1S will be available from selected Tascam retailers in October 2010 for under $40 each. [Tascam]
