If you like retro gadgets, then check out the new TDK Digital Boombox. This gadget features a built in AM/ FM radio with a couple of 10 Watts speakers, a 15watt subwoofer on the front and several touch sensitive buttons for controlling everything. What’s more, this music player can also play music from your iPhone, iPod or MP3 player via a USB port, a 3.5mm audio jack or an RCA port. TDK today introduced three new earphones from the CLEF-P Sound Tuning Series in the form of the VOCAL Tuning, LIVE Tuning and MEGA BASS Tuning. The VOCAL Tuning is meant to enhance vocals, while the LIVE Tuning to reproduce live music and rock, and the MEGA BASS Tuning to deliver powerful basses. TDK has proudly introduced the new 1TB or 1000GB optical disk at CEATEC this week. The new 1TB disc has the same diameter as a standard Blu-ray disc, but with 16 layers, storing 32GB per side of each layer (32 layers each storing 32GB = 1TB of data). For your info, TDK has successfully created a 200GB disk in 2006, but it never came into mass market. Stay tuned for more updates. [Geek]

TDK Corp has developed two types of passive matrix OLED panels. One is a flexible type whose display is bendable, and the other is a see-through type. The company will release the flexible OLED panel at end of 2011. Measuring at just 0.3mm or less, the flexible OLED panel is not affected even if the panel is bent to a curvature radius of up to 25mm. The TDK Flexible Passive Matrix OLED Panel uses a resin substrate, which is less likely to break. The flexible OLED panel is targeted at mobile devices including cell phones. [TechOn]

TDK has recently introduced three new sport-oriented headphones for the Japanese market. The TDK TH-SB22YG and TDK TH-SB20YG produce sound pressure level of 104dB/mW with 16 Ohm of impedance, while the TDK TH-SB21YG provides sound pressure level of 97dB with 32 Ohm of impedance. These headphones will be released this summer in Japan for around 2,000 Yen ($22) each. [Kakaku]

Charles Wood of Worrell Design has creatively designed the TDK Trans-it Edge USB flash drive concept. It comes with a hard metal around the softer interior to provide more protection.
