Taiwanese storage solution provider Thecus is about to unleash their newest Network Attached Storage (NAS) device called the N7700+. Powered by a Intel Celeron M processor, the device is equipped with seven 3.5-inch SATA hard drive bays for a maximum of 14TB of storage space, a 2GB DDR2 RAM, a PCIe x8 slot that is suitable for a 10Gb Ethernet card, two cooling fans and a 300 Watt power supply. In addition, it also supports multiple RAID setups (0, 1, 5, 6, 10) as well as JBOD, and comes with several connectivity ports including two Gigabit Ethernet, eSATA and four USB 2.0. Thecus N4200 NAS With 6D Technology

Thecus has recently announced a new NAS device called the N4200 with 6D technology. The device is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel D510 dual-core processor with a 1GB of RAM. The Thecus N4200 also adopts the dual DOM technology offering two copies of the software needed to operate the NAS device inside the unit in case one gets corrupted. There is also a couple of displays located on the unit, where one LCD display shows system information, while the other 2.8-inch OLED display shows settings of the device like WAN, LAN, and more. Using this NAS, you will be able to mix both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives, where the system can be configured with two RAID modes simultaneously. Thecus also uses a battery backup module inside the NAS device that allows data to finish writing to the drives inside in the event power goes out during a write or firmware update. [Slashgear]

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Although the Thecus N0204 is small, this network attached storage is able to hold a maximum of 1TB capacity, thanks to 2.5″ hard drives or SSDs within. Claimed as the world’s smallest NAS, the Thecus N0204 has only a couple of bays with RAID 0, 1 or JBOD configuration. The device is also compatible with both Mac and PC networks and will work with Wi-Fi orGigabit LAN via the Ethernet connection on the back of the unit.
